Sully with 12 spots to fill on a roster is where we will see just how good this investment in him is. He had work cut out with Perth coming in. But so do the other 16 clubs.

Looking at all players off contract next year, these are probably the ones who would be considered borderline rep quality or above. Some are old, most i cant see leaving their current clubs or coming to Newcastle.

Fullbacks - Teddy, Turbo

Wingers - Cobbo, Isaako, Coates, Marky Mark, RTS, Garrick, Taulagi, Warbrick

Centres - Farnworth, Iro, Ramien

Halves - Metcalf, Campbell, Hughes, Nikorima, Reynolds

Hookers - Brailey, Grant

Forwards - Haas, Koloamatagi, Lindsay Smith, Capewell, Crichton, Fermor, Fifita, Kikau

If we can land 1 in a position of need who still has something left in the tank it'd be a pretty big coop.

At least with PoS, he has a good track record looking at the next teirs of quality and finding some gems. Either journeymen or fringe first graders. Already seeing his work there with his focus on getting young props in. One thing with the dolphins is the guys who've stepped up, all look like guys who aren't the most physically gifted, but rip in - a few of which are ex-knights.

We should be looking good very closely at the GC situation. I cant see them doing anything other than gutting that roster and building around a young core. So might be some value there.

I can’t see any possible way that Grant leaves Melbourne tbh. That club has an impeccable record of keeping these type of generational players together.

Brailey is more realistic, he’d be on unders at the Sharks right now and I don’t know how much cap space they would have to offer him what he’s worth.

Apparently 550k if zero tackle is to be believed. So less than what his brother is on here

Missing Annan, Manuleleua and presumably Saulo
Just going off zero tackle, first 2 apparently have club options which if true not guarenteed a contract for 2027 and Saulo hasn't been confirmed yet.

But even if they eventuate, doesnt move the needle much. 9 spots with hopefully a cap that's well enough managed to sign some half decent players to round out the 30.

I think Grant stays at Melbourne but Munster finishes his career at Perth on mega dollars. The thing to remember is these lads have won everything conceivable. They will be about the biggest contract. They have earned every dollar.

Today’s Tele, Brailey B, 27y/o next month, Sharks offering a 3 yr deal but he wants 5yrs. He has a further year on his contract to go.
Next year plus 5 yrs means he will be 33y/o when contract ends

Brailey is also asking for a big pay rise after being a liability more often than a plus. He's hit a great patch of form and is trying to cash in. Previously he's been average at best.

This Gagai contract situation seems to be getting a little out of hand doesn't it. He clearly does not want to go but we are doing our best to push him. He won't bend O'Sullivan though. if they could both he and Frizz would be signed already. My question is where is the demand for them externally?

Man, calling him a liability is wild take. The kid has arguably been the form hooker in the comp the last few years
