Awesome avatar NT, where can I get something similar?
Google Image search cartoons you like, and put .gif after it. Sometimes it brings up moving images that you can use. Gotta open the images up to see if it moves though, and make sure its the right size, cos you can't edit that sh*t easilly.

Hablo inglese?
hahahah sounds like me overseas. In Paris i was like. CROISSANT, MERCI ... PARLEY VOO ANGLAY?

Our accent sounds so bad overseas.

Whenever I've travelled to Europe, I've felt almost embarrased to talk. Especially in Sweden and France. Swedish and French people sound so eloquent and whenever I try to speak their language I sound horrible.

Rome is ok. Italians are so freakin loud, you can't hear yourself think, let alone talk.

England is ok as well. Most of the time, I had to ask some of the Pom's I was chatting to if they were actually speaking English as their accents were so bad.

I liked being Aussie O/S - found people responded to you really well. Most people had an experience including Australia or an AUstralian and took to you really well.

The trick to overseas travel, imo is being really good at Charades.

lolBaz, when we were in Ireland we went to a pub for dinner/drinks, and this adorable bartender was chatting to us. NO.IDEA. We could see words moving from his mouth but it was just OAAUMGFLUPOTATOCOOSELAYEA TOBESURE TOBESURE.
We were so embarassed! 10 minutes of conversation and both parties ended up just giving up and walking away.

Also - this is one of my favourite 'Australians O/S' stories.... Straight from OhErrol!

Miami is also a city filled with cultural landmines. The following is an edited transcript of ‘Sassy trying to buy a coffee’.
Sassy: Can I have a cafe latte to take away please?
Waitress: … Cafe?
Sassy: Yes please, cafe latte.
Waitress: Cafe con leche?
Sassy: ….. *tick tock*
Sassy: Cafe … latte?
Waitress: Cafe con leche?
Sassy: ….
Waitress: ….
Sassy: …. I’M FOREIGN.
Waitress: Cafe con leche.

Apart from the way we speak, the rest of being Aussie is good. Particularly noticed in France, that when you id yourself as an Aussie, people breathe a sigh of relief and often say "Thank goodness. I thought you were an American"

They hate yanks over there. Actually, they hate yanks in most places I've been.

In Sweden, they absolutely love Aussies. Australia is just about every Swede's dream travel destination so they all drive you mad with questions about Spiders, Snakes and Crocodiles. Australia and Sweden are so far apart in distance, yet the people there are remarkably similar to us. The only real difference is that they are a little more conservative and cautious than Aussies. They also struggle to understand the Aussie sense of humour at first.

Australians have the most annoying accent imo. New Zealanders must be 2nd, since ours is just the same with i and e swapped around.

As much as I tend to bag New Zealand, I do enjoy going there. I find that the NZ accent grates on my nerves after about 3 or 4 days though. Only because it is so similar to ours that it seems Kiwi's are changing some letters around on purpose, just to piss Aussies off.

I went to Aussie once and pretty much just thought it was New Zealand on steroids, which is cool I guess, but I'm starting to bore of the culture tbh. Need to get out of the south pacific I feel. Really though, there are more similarities between New Zealanders and Australians than there are between New Yorkers and people from Los Angeles. Our only real differences are climate and indigenous culture. That, and you guys are so god-damn f**king confident in your sports teams, whereas we're like "HUMBLE UNDERDOGS THAT OVER-ACHIEVE PLZ"

The other good thing I find about NZ is we have a slight currency advantage over you and some of the big chain stores that we share are lazy. Generally if you go to Just Jeans or some such store in Aus or NZ they have the same deals going, i.e. 2 shirts for $40. Difference is, we get a currency advantage on your $40.

Sad part is, that means that these chain stores are generally just ripping us Aussies off.
