But one thing you raised is a good point - for some reason there are a lot of glory hogs on soccer. You know, the players who want to do it all: take that shot from 30 yards out; dribble past the entire team to score; hog the ball; etc.

Why is that? So many times you see the player take the wrong option and be a glory hog - more so than in any other sport imo.

You don't watch a lot of Football, do you?

They all go to soccer because, if they played League or Union they would have their heads knocked off. If you want to be a show pony in one of the Rugby Codes you have to be really, really good at it. Otherwise you are just painting a target on yourself.

I have been thinking that too, but people think I'm being silly when I say it out loud. Queensland relish having the odds against them, NSW like to claim it matters to them as much as it does to Queensland, this could be the sort of predicament to get them to fire against all odds...
