Nobody has dominated the first 60 mins of a match and lost as much as we have this year. Safe bet every week is the Manly/Opposition Halftime/Fulltime double.

Fair call.

I'm just so frustrated at the moment. For the first time in years the Eels have a forward pack that actually makes metres and controls the ruck. And we have nobody to take advantage of it.

Bah.

Jarryd Hayne only plays good every second year.

To be honest, I think he's doing OK. He could definitely improve his defensive positional awareness and whatnot, but he's still looking dangerous.

Problem is we have no fifth tackle option but "pass it to Jarryd and hope he pulls off a miracle". And he nearly did against Brisbane.

What I can't work out is that Gasnier left over a 3rd party deal, worth 100k, going sour. Yet he comes back now and signs up again for next to nothing, at least for the first year anyway. Sure he has lined his pockets elsewhere but if money meant that much to him a couple of years back then what gives now? He could easily earn a million bucks a year staying in France or playing Rugby in Japan. Just seems odd to me.

Not suggesting that the Dragons are doing anything shifty, more so, wondering what Gasnier was doing going away in the first place.

If you sit down and look at it, I reckon he has probably only just done better than breaking even. He has been O/S for 2 years. When he signed it was worth a million AU per season so probably about 560k Euro. On todayas exchange thats worth about $800k Aussie. So he probably earnt about $1.8mill. He signed up with the Dragons for SFA for the rest of this season. If he'd have stayed here he'd have got about $500k per year including third party and NRL payments and also including this year so he'd have made $1.5mill. After all the crap he went through he is probably only about $300k in front and thats before tax....

With a good manager and clean image, he could have easily made that up in third party deals.

I guess no one could have foretold the financial crisis and the dip in the Euro, but I reckon thats a big part of the reason that SBW is back in this part of the world as well

It's called back-loading, and he's getting it deluxe.

Dragons will lose a sh*teload of talent over the next 3 years, all Gaz's fault.
