lol yeah I reckon

I have a passion for ancient history stuff (specifically Rome/Greece) though and it does a pretty good job of attending to that... my only complaint from the first season would be that they are a bit light on the battle scenes. Haven't started watching the second season yet.

If you want battle scenes check out a series called "Decisive Battles: the Ancient World" mean series. I have it on DVD. Uses Rome Total war to simulate the battles  has stuff like Gaugamela, Caesar vs. Pompey, Rome Conquering Macedonia, Canna, Marathon, Thermopylae and my favourite: The Battle of Wattling street.

Worth a look if you're in to the actual fighting and tactics etc. no so much if you want boobies...

have they kicked on at all? i remember listening to Colour of Sleep of sleep back in the day, and it was a pretty sweet track. can't says i've heard from them since.

They're on Nuclear Blast now, which is a pretty big deal. Came over here playing with Decapitated, Origin and Misery Index but I wasn't able to make it. Recording a new album at the moment, and have done some touring in Europe from what I understand. So yeah, doing pretty well for an underground Metal band from this part of the world.

Lol, not in it for the boobies.. just an added bonus of having an interest in Ancient History.

I think I've seen an episode of that, by the way. I like most of the aspects of the ancient societies so it'd be worth checking out more.

It was just that Rome was very light on the battles - it pretty much skipped over Caesar vs Pompey and played sword-fight sounds as the camera was on an empty battlefield. Then it had transparent swords over the top hitting each other haha.

Tactics was one of my favourite parts of doing Ancient History in school though. One of our main topics was the Persian Wars which was awesome.

I'm more into the books that tell the battle in a different context, but close enough that you cam read and think which battle it was though.

I like the tactics philosophy and religious beliefs as far as ancient history goes. I guess that pretty much covers most of it though

Books are usually better I find because you can look at the maps/unit formation/front lines etc. in depth as opposed to looking at a superficial replication on the TV for a few seconds at a time. Just got to remember that history is ALWAYS written by the victor. This is especially true where ancient history is concerned. Alexander for example tended to understate his Army and Overstate the other. But hey, dude was king of the known world so he could do whatever he wanted.
