I have made a blatantly obvious and much better finals draw than that current debacle we have in place now. Any thoughts people on whether there should be changes to it, to make it any better.

Week 1

Game A - 7 vs 8 (at 7th's home ground) - Loser eliminated
Game B - 5 vs 6 (at 5th's home ground)
Game C - 3 vs 4 (at 3rd's home ground)
Game D - 1 vs 2 (at 1st's home ground) - Winner goes to Grand Final

Week 2

Game E - Loser B vs Winner A - Loser eliminated
Game F - Loser C vs Winner B - Loser eliminated
Game G - Loser D vs Winner C - Loser eliminated

Week 3

Game H - Winner E vs Winner F - Loser eliminated

Week 4

Game I - Winner D vs Winner H

I don't think the team who won game D would be overly impressed with a 2 week break before their next run ...

back to the drawing board.

The finals system is fine. It benefits the teams that finish the highest. Which is the whole idea of HAVING finals in the first place and wanting to finish AT THE TOP at the end of the season.

If it's unfair for the bottom teams, bad luck. They should've been more consistant.

The 2nd week is the Mcyntires weakest point. Other than that, it's very good.

assuming all highest ranked teams win every game then in week 2...
3 plays 5
4 plays 6

Um....am I missing something here?

yes!

ok i'll spell it out...

why does 3 have to play against 5, while lower placed 4 gets to play 6

similarly, why does 5 have to play against 3, while lower placed 6 gets an easier game against 4

I dont like numbers. Maybe you should use the actuall teams if the higher place teams all win. Then explain it.

Hang on. You saying - assuming highest teams win and radiers/cowboys out - Broncos(3) play Dragons(5) and Penrith(4) play Storm(6) in Week 2?

Sorry, loser of that game is eliminated. I just forgot to type it in.

That's a little unfair.

1st vs 3rd can potentially eliminated the at the same time as 6th v 8th :S
