Boys, I don't usually sprout off at the mouth without giving evidence but on this occassion I might just have to. There was a Coach who applied for the First Grade position and the Club was EXTREMELY impressed with this candidate, but they had already appointed the coaching staff for 2004.

IF it doesn't turn out the way we hope, I anticipate he might get the nod.

A coach is only as good as his players regardless.

the hard fact is some of those guys out there arent ready for first grade

particulairly given some of the weaknesses of some senior players

problem is though is that we probally performed the worst out of all the teams over the weekend. Even the bunnies played well. Get a copy of "shark attack" and check out rapers face on the cover. You are going to be seeing alot moer of those expressions all year. A man with permanent piles. :x :x

McSharkie, Before a ball was kicked in anger I had grave concern about Raper being a "yes man". I do not beleive that Raper is capable of being the first Coach to win us a Premiership.

i think a fair question here is "why not?"

I would really like to see a brand new Board who has had no previous association with the Club AND a Coaching staff who has also had no prior history with the Club ala John Lang and Shane Richardson.

gawd you seem to have an axe to grind with the board

Millers, A "yes man" is somebody who bows down to pressure applied to them and does not stand up for their own "convictions or beliefs". If for example the Board came up to Stuey and said " Stu, we are not worried about results, we just want you to play entertaining footy and bring back the people". I am saying that in my opinion will say " Sure Boss whatever you say" instead of " No, I am here to win the Premiership for this Club, entertainment has nothing to do with winning the comp. I will do it my way".

It is a generated example, but do you see my point???

For all of Ando's problems and lack of communication skills at least he acknowledged that changes had to be made. I see Raper as "part of the furniture" as Nick Graham aptly described himself before he left.

Make no mistake, I hope that I am proven 100% wrong and that I will eat the biggest piece of humble pie. Only time will tell.

My grind with the Board would seem to be no more than most other Sharks supporters on this forum. My biggest worry now is that with the footy on people will forget what a disgrace this mob really is. They have done nothing in my opinion to retain their position, and have done more harm than good long term.

I stick by my assessment that we will not win a Premiership until we have a new Board and a new Coach.

Call me the new Reefy if you like, its just how I see it, not to stir trouble or cause division.

I think we should at least be thankful it was only 12 points scored against us.

We definitely lacked in attack, we didn't even score any points until the 2nd half!
Ball handling needs work and Kimmorly's kicking game was woeful.

But surely we can only improve from here.

Gallen ! Are u joking , He was one of our best forwards. See how much we miss him over the next few weeks. Saleh was as slow as luke warm kebab.Send him back to PL. Whats all this "having fun" stuff? These guys are proffesional players . Have a look at other teams its all about intensity at the Roosters and Penrith. So lets drop the "fun" image and get more intensity. We better find it this week or I will need a calculator for the Bulldogs game.

1. What's CYA mean?
2. I don't see any similarities in Bird to Fittler at the moment, except that he's a big 5/8
3. Lomu's defence was good early the game.

Got to admit the Tigers defence was very good on the night. Our inside pass ball runners were easy pickings. Ambushed!
Vital negative moments for mine:
1. Peach's inablility to control the ball which gave the Tigers their first try
2. Lomu's fumble - the turning point IMO.
3. 3 defenders unable to stop Senter
4. McGoldrick's `no-brain' kick on the 3rd tackle? when we were in good attacking position and may have snatched a draw followed by a golden point.
5. Noddy's failure to control the results of his kicks.
I didn't see any real improvement on last year. As a mate of mine, and a pretty good judge, said: `It seems that Raper hasn't put his stamp on the team at all'. Let's hope we see improvement soon.
Bring on the Dogs and we'll give them a good kicking.
