A Casino

Is it feasible for the Sharks to include a casino in its new leagues club. Not just a bunch of machines, I mean proper casino? Has it been discussed before?

It would certainly get us a lot closer to securing the required funding for a new stadium.

No chance only 2 in all of NSW and needs government approval. I’m sure crown would also have an exclusive arrangement with the government for an extended period without anymore competition.
If the government was ever going to approve another one would be on the borders or Newcastle.
Yep, and it wasn’t easy for Crown to get a licence and it’s heavily restricted.

Dino was on the board I think at Star at one time.
Casino license if that was available if any club would have grabbed it would have been Uncle Nick

Forgetting about the money needed, I've thought an ideal long term term solution would be acquiring the golf course across the road and building a new stadium from scratch there. No idea how realistic that would be.

i think that's a swell idea.

do the suburbs of Woolooware and Cronulla BOTH need golf courses? No

did you know you can hit the ball from Woolooware course to Cronulla course on one of the holes? f**king dumb.
look at this shit. 200 meters if that

do the people of the sutherland shire need 3 courses? NO.

Would a precinct with a stadium and new housing be better at or Cronulla ? YES.

thsi would have to be huge joint nsw state and federal government operation.
an epl team on their own could get this done. NRL? no chance

but. if it was federal and state government initiative...

Isn’t one a public course and one a members only course?

If youse wanted to get a gambling fix it was just a case of heading over to the Taj Mahal at Carlton.

I remember back in the day we would just stand and stare in awe at the masses of machines with big metal handles. Rooms full of them I tell youse.

Rivers of gold flowing into the coffers.

And apparently to this day not munch has changed. Maybe a couple of Keno machines.

Frenzy.
