A couple of coaching errors today

well more rotation mistakes rather than coaching errors.

Stevo should have been on earlier in the second half.
we should not have had 3 intrchanges still to go with 6 minutes remaining. Especailly seeing we played the match with 16 players.

I think he would do it differently if given another go. I think helped feed the comeback by the knights.

with only 16 players in rotation, raper pulled a masterstroke by having 5 interchanges left with 6 mins to go.

and the point is, he threw all 3 on with 6 to go, taking sully off and placing kent and hilder back to half and hooker respectively. just when we needed fresh, strong defence.

won the game for us by holding them out at the end.

hhmm I dont think that was where the problem in the game was.
the team opened up at the 50 minute mark through to the 65th. We missed 10 of our 15 tackles through that period
The knights scored 3 tries in the 50 minute, 53rd minute & 58 th minute
they were unlucky on another 2 occasions in the 60th & 65th.

& who went on? lomu, Bickers & Beattie? or Nutts?

Glaring mistake in my opinion & one of the major reasons we had to hold on in the end.

I'd much rather have them talked about, and hopefully the coaching staff rectify, before we lose one.

Its a bit pety looking at 'mistakes' like that. He did well and if we won it must have been the right decision

The answer is simple, we would have been trying to win it from behind in the last few minutes. So not always are coaches decisions the, best ones.

Just because he "won"t the match, doesn't mean it was the right decision.
In fact, I'll guarantee he knows he made mistakes.

yes he won the game.
But he laso nearly lost it.
Were there better decisions that could have been made?

I don't agree with reefy here, let's face it, only fools usually do at any time. But the fact is, the subject bears discussion, that's what we're here for, criticism for mine is far more worthy when talking about a winning team, rather than just picking on a losing team.

I for one only really like to be critical when we have won, its nice to know there are plenty of areas to improve, yet still take home the 2 pts.

I agree Reefy, however Im sure you can find 1000's of mistakes from every coach around, they are all humans. About having 3 interchanges left, I fail to see the problem? Maybe Raper, who was on the sideline and in a position to see how players were holding up saw that we didnt need to interchange players because they didnt need to be changed #-o. I do agree with you on the Stevens scenario however, he should ahve been on earlier. By the way, I think Beattie should be demoted, still nohing from him.

Oh sorry, I forgot that he was incapable of making mistakes. Hilder had at most four difficult kicks. Assuming Kimmorley has missed all of them (which needless to say he may not have) we still would've scraped our way into extra time?

Easy to make judgement sitting at a pc or in front of a TV.
You over rate yourself mate,simple as that.
Yeah we lappsed in the 2nd half but the guys on the field were the same in the 1st half.....Rapers fault we let them back in ???? I think not,,,,
