A Current Affair on Johns

ACA apparently had an "exclusive" with Andrew Johns.

When asked about his decision and how hard it would be, Johns said something along the lines of:

"Its a tough decision, but its going to make me happy and my family happy. And unfortunately its going to make a lot of people who've been around me and close to me unhappy. But oh well, thats the way it goes".

The reporter then said:

"It sounds like you've made your decision".

Johns smiled and said:

"Nah, nah I havent decided".

The way this is dragging out is bullshit. Apparently Orford has till tomorrow to tell Melbourne what he is doing, so the Knights might miss out on him aswell due to the actions of this self-glorifying prick who thinks he is above the Knights and the game. Knights fans have the right to be filthy.

Announce your intentions Johns.

Cheers.

Isn't it funny how he's a Leaguie when the ARU have no money for him, but when they find some he's interested again. He has totally lost my respect , no matter which way he decides, but that's just the way it goes.

i think ull find that the knights had f*** all chance of getting matty orford in any case... hes pretty keen on only signing for one year.. and that would ideally be with his current club

Johns admitted the WC final had a very big and lasting affect on him. He also admitted that nothing in the game he was playing could match up to what he was witness to on that night.

He's just searching out greener pastures and unlike xenephobes on here, can admit a good spectacle when he sees one. Majority of people on here are scared to death of conceeding an inch to rugby union because it puts the fear of god into them that one day their little niche market of north eastern australia might be eroded away somewhat.

For god's sake grow up children.

Joey, if you've made up your mind, just GO! We have a very talented player in Kurt Gidley doing a stellar job at the moment, but it would be nice to know if you're going to be taking more of our money next year or whether we can spend it on somebody else..

Johns is a ledgen--but with 2 years to go--he will go to who offers him the best deal after the game--I dont know whats all the fuss is about--johns goes another one comes--Their will be another super star, their always is.But to throw buckets of money at him-i dont know--put it into the new kid on the block-who ever it might be---I dont blame johns for playing one off against the other, but except for publicity i dont see what rugby or rugby league are going to get for their money--dont get me wrong--he would walk into most teams even if he was 40--but for 400-500 grand i cant see value

No one would care if Johns retired from the game because of his bad knee. Everyone would say thered be new superstars comming along eg Lockyer. This mostly about spite, about not letting union have a little victory.

Kurt Gidley is doing FAR from a stellar job, Knightmare, his kicking game is atrocious and he continually takes the wrong options. Centre or 5/8th? Possibly. Half-back? No.

Newcastle are screwed for next year if Johns does not sign.

Did anyone else like how the interviewer's last name was Fordham? Son of his manager by any chance?

Johns would be far too old to play in the next world cup. If he wanted to play in something like that, 2 years ago was the time to go, not now. Don't get me wrong, I love rugby almost as much as I love league, but I'm sure people on both sides can see him as simply a greedy, self-serving wanker. I've thought it all along, and now he's confirmed it.

The funny thing about this is that it has polarised opinions in both codes.
Half of union people want him to sign, the other half want him to stay in league. The same can be said for the league people.

He'll never get the reception he got after winning those two grand finals for the Knights. Nothing can beat that. Those times were gold.

I think there are plenty of people who would love to go through a season of guts and toil and come out the other end NRL premiers - with ya mates. That is what he'll cherish the most.

That world Cup final was all about winning a trophy for a bunch of event goers and toffs.

Fordham also manages Mr Cash for Comment Laws? there goes any credibility any of them ever had ( well ok zero anyway)

Shane Webcke has never had a manager. Now there is a smart man!

And how often will Johns get to play in a Yawn Cup Final? 1, most probably none

Cheers.

Do you think 15,000 Waratahs fans would turn up at 3am to greet the bus....? (I guess we will never find out, they cant even make the finals)

I dont think so.

If he thinks playing infront of 80k union toffs is going to be better than playing infront of 80k mad SOO supporters, he really does have problems. They are bandwagon jumpers, elitists, networkers and accountants. People that think they are too good for league, or dont give a stuff about either sport and go because its 'the place to be seen'.... or they got free tickets.

They go mental at penalty kicks and applaud touchfinders like they are 40/20s.

Says something about the quality and excitement of that game...
