A Great Signing Option For Hooker Would Be...

I have been an admirer of this bloke for a couple of years now and again tonight he has played out of his skin. The energy and speed he plays at leave any option we have at Parra at the moment in the dust.

His name is Anthony Watts, and I don't think he would be all that pricey either.

Is he the same guy who was the-next-big-thing at Melbourne a few years ago? Played fullback I think.

Edit: I'm thinking of Brad Watts.

I was saying exactly the same thing to my old man while watching the Cowboys-Manly game tonight.

Plenty of speed off the mark and good service to his pack and JT plus he looks to have good field/game/momentum awareness

He can shelve the chip kick as far as I'm concerned but besides that he is an outstanding prospect and would be a terrific pick up.

Apparently got hunted by Roosters and Sharks for discipline problems...but he can play...

I've heard this before a few weeks ago. Twas in relation to Kris Keating and how far superior he was to everyone else.

Watts would fit in here perfectly.

We should bring him to Parra and then after he plays a couple of average games we should scream for him to be dropped to Wenty.

I'm a Cowboys fan, IMO he would make a poor starting hooker at this stage of his career.

His weak point is that he can't read the game very well and he often takes the wrong options.

He also has a lot of errors and ill discipline in his game.

He is certainly talented though, he could be a great player if he worked hard on his weaknesses.

As a bench he is great for the Cowboys, always comes on and makes
things happen. Something with MK ATM is unable to provide.

That is pretty much my view on him too.

Very handy little player. Problem is he's a jack of all trades, master of none type player.

He isn't composed enough to play in the halves, and he can't get the forwards rolling forward, so can't be a starting hooker.

But he's quick, unpredictable, has a very nice kicking game (long AND short) and is an absolute weapon against tired forwards.

I still think we are most dangerous when Payne and Watts are both on the field at the same time. Payne gets the forwards rolling forward and builds momentum; Watts exploits it.

I personally like the look of that Kevin Kingston bloke from Penrith. I hear he was off contract at the end of last season and the Panthers got him for a song.

That means he must be a chance to captain NSW then :sarcasm:
