Good start for the Roar. First game of the season so a little rusty but good overall.

Crowd was disappointing though.. Plenty at the supporters end but not a lot everywhere else.

Brisbane people are a funny bunch with these things.

Starting with a decent keeper, Kennedy is rubbish
He was pretty good last year I thought. Wasn't decisive with too many of his decisions on Saturday, but I'm willing to put that down to a bit of rustiness - anyone would be after having a 10-month off-season ...

Massively disappointing Roar crowd given the last time they played there they sold the joint out.

Still the classy professional outfit they were last season despite personnel changes. We didn't threaten much in attack but there were glimpses. With Ryan at the back and decent defence we'll be thereabouts again.

Were you at the game Timmah?

The large pocket of mariners fans we have seen in the past at lang park were much smaller in numbers than usual as well. Although there seemed to be plenty of them at the caxton pre game.

going off round one the competition is continuing to improve in overall quality. increased speed is noticeable, less balls in the air from the back and more player foresight.

The pocket of CCM fans at Suncorp is always larger than the sprinkling (and even that's being generous) of Roar fans that supplement our crowd at Bluetongue. Either way, how did 50k drop to 13k is what im interested in? Not great marketing IMO

The marketing was next to non existant, there was no effort at all to tap into the broncos market, there is so many different things they can do to attract those kinds of people especially when they are not competing with league. All i saw above what was advertised on fox was the odd sign on a bus and in the mx newspaper.

Piss poor.

Although in saying that, Brisbane folk, like leeds fans that are now chelsea fans, like a good bandwagon, the fact they didn't come back even after that GF is not really a surprise.
