Pretty average crowds.

Good on Brosque though, that boy is set for big things.

I think the crowds were reasonable considering the wet weather at both grounds and the lack of promotion.

I'd be more worried about these crowds personally.

Souths v Manly - 7,509
Panthers v Cowboys - 8,212

Handy crowds for games with zero promotion, and on such a miserable night.

Anyone know where the Jets are playing their upcoming Cup fixtures? I know there's one scheduled to take place in Tamworth (which would have been bonza back when I lived in Armidale), but are there any in Newcastle? Or will I have to wait until the season proper kicks off?

If your willing to drive a few hours up the highway Newcastle are playing at Port Macquarie on the 29th of July. Otherwise they have games in Canberra on the 22nd, and Tamworth on the 5th of August.

No surprise that they kept the crowd quiet, given New Zealand's appaling crowds during the season proper last year.

Apparently the crowd was 800 odd in Auckland. It's Pre-season but the bad signs are there. VPL & NSWPL games get better crowds than that. Unless they pick up there act quickly this will be the Knights last season.

Good crowd in Launceston for Melbourne Vs Adelaide though.

Next weekends games are.

Sydney FC Vs Newcastle Jets FC 2.00 PM
Canberra Stadium, Canberra

Central Coast Mariners FC Vs Adelaide United FC 3.00 PM
Wade Park, Orange

Perth Glory FC Vs Melbourne Victory FC 3.00 PM
Dorrien Gardens, West Perth

Queensland Roar FC Vs New Zealand Knights FC 7.00 PM
Maroochydore Soccer Club, Sunshine Coast

$25 for a pre season game no thanks, especially a team who only won once last year and zero wins at home. and only two kiwis in the 18 players signed so far.

Not surprising...

The sooner NZ are gone the better.

Knob!

For the growth of the game NZ has to be there, they can only improve cant do any worse than they did last season.

I have nothing against New Zealand or the Knights, but I do wonder why the nation can't organise it's own national football competition. It needn't be as big or as well funded as the A-League, but why is the development of the New Zealand game dependent on charity from the Australian competition and the FFA?

In my eyes it's a bit farcical that the A-League, the Australian premier football competition, has a representative in another nation (and Confederation) whilst the likes of Townsville, Hobart, Gold Coast, Darwin, Wollongong, and Canberra go without teams.

Yeah there is a National Soccer League fo sho.

1-1 draw is an improvement, lets see what they've got this season with their new squad. If they get some results on the board the crowd numbers may change.
