Does anyone here remember Dave Eckersley who played for Cronulla in 1977? I just need to know if he was an Englishman or Aussie. Any help would be appreciated.

According to This he was playing for England in the world championships 1975, so I would guess Englishman.

Yeh he was a pommy test centre.Played 8 games for us in 1977.(ref Encylopedia of League for the 8 games 0 tries)

Might of been Welsh but why did he play for England and not Wales in the 75 World Cup?
Did England get to pick who they wanted first and then Wales got to choose their squad.

Thanks guys. I actually found out from some pommy fans that he is a Leigh product who played mostly for St Helens and Widnes and was mostly a five-eighth over there.
