Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-tSvrkKx2Y

Hard to imagine Fred Krueger being portrayed by anyone else other than Robert Englund. After watching the trailer I get the feeling it may be as bad as the new Friday the 13th.

Important to note that the producers have never mentioned the word "remake", preferring to use the term "re-imagining". I'll still go see it but my hopes won't be very high I suspect. :?

Looks better than the original IMO apart from Englund not being the lead, this looks heaps better than that friday the 13th remake

Some scenes look the same to me, Freddy's knife-glove in the bath between Nancy's legs...yet they say it is not a remake.

Almost looks shot-for-shot like that Psycho dribble some years back.

it wasnt that bad,but it did seem way to well acted for a friday the 13th movie

this looks like crap, freddy doesnt even look like freddy kruger
at least its a decent cast with katie cassidy of supernatural and thomas dekker of heroes and terminator

It seems to me that a lot of Hollywood studios arn't putting much faith into new projects that stem outside of what was successful like twenty plus years ago. Remake after remake. They're gonna start remaking music videos soon enough. In the meantime, sit back and watch old classics (and yes, I consider a nightmare on elm street a classic) get butchered by teen actors and over-ambitious directors.

P.s Keep your eyes peeled for Waler Hill's "The Warriors" get shat on in a remake due in 2010.

It will probably be exactly the same sort of sh*t as the original, but everyone will bitch and say it was nowhere near as good. Just like they did for Friday the 13th.

Yeah that's just about the last straw for me.

yes it's a remake, but it's "modernised", set in LA with guns and other weapons. What made the original so classic was the lack of guns other than when it fitted the story, the genuine street fighting mentality, and decent characters.

This will blow hard, and not in a good way.

Stop the press!

GeneralZod - what did you just say?

Remaking Predator?
Whaaaa?
Can I have that in writing please?
Anyone else aware of this?

Are you serious?
Give me a f*cking break are you serious?

Gee, I've got no come back for this.

I can't beat this battle.

I tried to rant and rave against the Karate Kid being remade (I'm still dubious about Jackie Chan donning the Miyagi persona) but I'm resigned to defeat.

I didn't even bother seeing the latest Terminator film and I just give up.

I haven't been to the cinema in ages as I'm tired of the sh*t they keep bombarding us with.

Think the re-imagining of Friday the 13th was the last and final straw.

El Diablo is right that film sux chutney.

I give up.

I got word that Evil Dead re-imagining is green lighted too.

Here it is the future and they can't produce any originality.

The
IT remake is going ahead too as well.

Did you know that you can't buy Nightmare on Elm Street 4 anywhere in Liverpool? I've got Jaws 2 on order but they're dicking me 'round.

I was just looking at the IMBD link for this new Freddy re-imagining and the name credits - one; the actors they're using today are ruining films and 2 Judith Hoag is in this one. Remember her? April O'neal from TMNT? I always wanted to root her and thought she was the sh*t when I had my pirated VHS copy in Ahscroft in 1990.

If you wanna watch a good old horror flick then get ya hands on a film called The Burning! It's hard-f*cking-core and goes overboard on the graphic violence. You gotta watch the uncut version though it makes Friday the 13th's look like Disney Land.

If they wanna film a movie, which I think would be a hit, then do this game I'm playing; Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars. It'd make a good film.

Does anyone know if Newtown BlueBags is still around? He never did give me his 2 cents worth on Willis' Die Hard point 4-owe thing.

And if it's any consolation.......look! I can't leave without saying this. I wanna have my 2 cents worth about this god awful Twilight sh*t.

I dunno, I can only assume that you're a pansy panty-waste or a candy ass if you're down with that Twilight vampire sh*t but I f*cking hate it.
Every week I buy the tV week and here's these f*cking drones staring at me looking like meth addicts with the stupidest looks on their faces.
F*ck they look stupid.
They don't realize it either.
Where's the joker when you need a Why so serious moment?

The f*ck wit on the right there looks like Martin Bryant released on a day pass.

What partially pisses me off about movies today is they make a film, consider it a hit, and then they all do these photo shoots.
It then becomes these photo shoot sessions where they just stand around in a bunch pulling dumb f*cken faces.
The camera man must get there going, ok look stoned! You, look a little more stiffer. I need more corpse there! The wind's blowing! The wind's blowing, yer hold that face right there you're almost dead, great, nailed it!

F*ck this sh*t.

Clowns! for all your clown requirments watch Twilight!

If Twilight isn't enough there's also some spinoff on Fox 8 of some other new Vampire sh*t as well.
Hello, overload of vampire sh*t.
It's been done before.

The voice is all wrong.

I mean, can you imagine casting anyone but Tobin Bell as Jigsaw?

Exactly right, I enjoy a horror flick but deep down I know almost all of them are really bad movies anyway. I felt about the same for the remake of Friday the 13th as I did for most of the 80's slasher flicks I've seen (nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th etc.)

The only real difference in the newer slashers is more titty shots and more "realistic" violence. Oh and I dislike Michael Bay's directing style.
