The Cowboys gave us plenty of assistance, but we got 2 points. I am going to bed happy tonight.

The return of Seymour brought a massive improvement. We still aren't there yet, but the Maloney/ Seymour combination is potentially our best halves combination in quite some time.

Very happy with Ropati- I am happy for him to continue to prove me wrong.

Hopefully, we have Mannering back next week- Matulino to the vulcans next week

If that was a step forward then its a very small one. Lets not get too ahead of ourselves.

For me it felt as though the cowboys lost that game as opposed to us winning it. They were absolutely woeful. If anyone can find the completion rate for that game post it here, I can only see that we made 27 completions from NRL.com, but it seemed as if the completion rate was pretty poor. We were just lucky that the Cowboy's one was worse. We had some decisions from the ref go our way too I felt.

Pros:
Seymour was ok, had some good kicks. Can't expect anything decent first game back but didn't disappoint
Ropati had one of his better games tonight
Rapira still going hard
Hohaia with some good touches at times
Ukuma Ta'ai proving to be a real asset
Upu Poaching with a solid debut

Cons:
Manu's leg
Completion rate

To me the only difference between this and the last 3 games is the opponent. I really hope Seymour's addition to the team along with getting the win can help steer things into a more positive direction but there's still a long way to go. We should have put a lot more on the Cowboys the way they were playing.

Yeah have to say the Cowboys vacant first half gave us a good advantage. Then they got 12 but one try off a very suspect elbow penalty which influenced the match a bit there. Overall the cowboys were poor and they had a dig but too little too late.

The problem with Lance is he telegraphs what he is going to do...I can read his play from the couch.

He is stepping/dummying/putting the foot down too soon before he gets to the line.
No one falls for the dummy and surge for the gap anymore.

We won and will be in 8th (at worst) after this week. Wow.

Big game against Souths at home next week. We need to win next week to show we are fair dinkum.

That call by the ref was a disgrace. Should have been a penalty to the Warriors. We seem to be struggling to get a fair go from the refs, especially when we play at home. Penalties are so crucial and we keep getting hammered by the refs.

I thought the same thing, if anything you guys should have got the penalty for Mason being all over his neck at the start of the tackle. The officiating was pretty poor the whole night I thought, the one where Thurston picked up a knock on and then got driven back into the in-goal and Klein wanted a drop out and then was given the tip that Thurston never got an advantage and he changed his mind and gave us the scrum feed was priceless and summed up Klein pretty much.

Good win by the way, too good for my lot, you guys showed some awesome rushing defence, I was waiting for a cricket score in the 2nd half.

Thanks Beave.
After the way you guys played last week I thought we were in for a hammering.
But lots of dropped balls by the Cowboys certainly helped our cause in the first half as we started to resemble playing like a team.

I haven't had the advantage of watching the replay yet but the tussle just as the game finished... did Willie Tonga deserve to be sent off? Yes he came in, but so did others. If so, is that SOO 1 out of reach for him now?
Didn't seem to be too much in it watching from the sideline..

Enjoyed finally cheering the Warriors for some good plays and hard hits.

Thanks Beave. I think it was always going to be a tough aak with the short turnaround. Backing up from Monday night football is never easy.

Tonga did deserve to go to the bin (he went for 10). He ran in and escalated matters. But he will have no dramas with the judiciary.

Ever play spacies in your "misspent" youth? Particularly "Space Invaders"? Or space invaders with a tennis ball and 3rd formers as the targets/battleships? Reminds me of Lance going back and forth.

Thought Seymour made a big difference, and made a difference in Maloney who could do his thing without the entire team resting on his shoulders. And the positive thing is this was really only 'week 1' for that combination. The rest of the team seemed to have more passion and fire on the back of it as well. Ropati looked better than he has for ages.
Reffing was terrible, the double whammy of a pair of unfair calls resulted in a try. But what can you do? Seems to happen often (the Raiders had some shockers IMO against the Storm too).
If Manus okay and we get Mannering back I think we may start some progress...but I hope a place is found for Brown who does not seem one of Clearys faves.

Honestly, I cannot see how anybody could prefer the form and impact of Matulino to Brown. If Mannering's return signals Brown's exit, it'll be a joke
