What about Hodges?

Didn't see Hodges - be interesting to see if the video reviewer does.

I do not think the original impact knocked the guy out - he was still moving his head in the tackle AFTER the initial hit - not until his head was smashed into the turf did he remain motionless!

Nor do I, however the momentum of the tackle had as much to do with his head hitting the ground as the hand at his throat. I don't think it was a classic head slam but it will probably warrant some charge.

It looks like Finch and Ricko should cop a suspension but who knows ...
If there is any justice they will. It'll be interesting to see what the outcome will be.

Yeah and Walker for being a girl !

if Finch doesn't get suspended......that will officially do me with the NRL judiciary, even after abhorrent decisions like Cayless' 8 weeks earlier in the year

and i think Ricko should go as well

The ultimate contradiction happened in the Raiders Roosters game.

Scif got 10 min in the bin for a professional foul, but when Rico ran in front of the winger after he kicked for himself only a penalty was awarded.

For mine that too was as bad as clinton's and should have seen him also go to the bin for 10 minutes.

Not like it would have changed the game, but these ref's need to stay consistant and so do the judiciary. I can't see either player coping and suspension, maximum one week both players if any!! Wasn't much in either and I think you would have to go back through similiar type tackles to see if a suspension had been served previously to justify a suspension here!!
Finch would be a big loss but Rico is really only there because he has the runs on the board. I'd have Toopu over him anyday of the week!! ;-)

Looks as if Finch has three weeks - only two if he pleads guilty. They'll challenge it opf course but it looks unlikely that he will play in the GF.

Finch will miss the Grand Final even if he gewts 2 weeks as the Roosters only play 1 more game

3 week suspenison means Finch misses Final, Grand Final & Challenge Cup (if Roosters win comp) or 1st official trial of 2005 if Roosters don't win comp

2 weeks is Final & Grand Finla

I am willing to bet large sums of money that the Roosters will call in the favours and get it downgraded to a 1 week suspension - they will then bitch and moan about how hard done by they are to try to con everyone into thinking justice was served.

How Ricko gets off is just beyond me.....obviously a favourite of the judiciary.....if a Parra player did what he did I would guarantee a 4 week break.

I give the juduciary a grading of D for this test....that may be downgraded to a F pending Finch's outcome.

Final grading....a Z-

Can someone explain to me...
- you can take an "early plea" to get a reduced sentence
- my understanding is "early plea" = not turning up, not wasting the judiciary's time, thus a reward for copping it sweet
- Brett Finch was on a grade 2 charge
- he went to the judiciary to get a downgrading...the operative words being WENT TO THE JUDICIARY
- he got the downgrading - that would have still left him with 1 week off
- he THEN took an "early plea".....ummmm, HELLO!!!....its Wednesday night - you are there - its not early - you are not copping it sweet - you are taking up the judiciary's time
- taking a late "early plea" left him with 93 points - thus no week off

The judiciary is a F'ING DISGRACE to the NRL

Schif should have been penalised for power driving himself into the ground and should cope 2 weeks for putting poor Finchy through such an ordeal.

Its different rules for Roosters as opposed to the other teams - that much is obvious.

Maybe they should just scrap suspensions except for the really serious things like Danny Williams and Clint Newton type of incidents. Alternatively fine players for the smaller misdemeanors.
Ultimately what does anyone care if a player gets fined $1000 or $10000? When it comes to suspensions no one can seem to agree on what is too much or too little. All players are then available for the coming rounds.
