DAVE SET TO SAVE KNIGHTS

Just who are the Knights looking at to replace all those players they're about to chop? We've been told one man they're sounding out is former Eels centre David Vaealiki, who was struggling to make a mark when he left Parramatta in 2004 and has hardly slayed them at Wigan.
SLICK PUPPY ON THE LOOSE

The Bulldogs have lost a heap of gun players in recent years and there's more to follow. The Roosters, Knights and Broncos are chasing 19-year-old Flegg centre Esi Tonga, younger brother of Willie.

Vaealiki would be a total waste of money, if this is the best we can hope for then we are going to be bitterly disappointed in 08.

This is exactly what I dont want.

Someone like Vaealiki, he would just be a straight swap for Carmont almost.

No need to get rid of a nuffy to sign another (Which btw, would probably be asking for more $$$ than Carmont).

This is the danger and the same trap that Hagan / Sargent used to fall into each year, they can't sign any quality so they start throwing money at has beens or never was, Reyno anyone?

We'd be better to use the money to upgrade and extend the contracts of the kids around the club.

I think its more Smith being like Anderson adn loving his pets. He adored Vaeliki. But yeah, rubbish signing.

Well Smith spent years at Parra, it would make sense that he would try to sign a current or past flame of his.

As for Tonga... why do we need another up and coming winger? We already have Uate and Vuna who can't make the top 17 anyway.

It seems that every mug from Parra has been thrown into the equation. All these names have been thrown up by the media and the only one we signed was Wes. Harldy anything was said about Cross and nothing at all about Wicks. It's a gee up. We have our outside backs for 08.

Brian,

You have done such a good job in recruitment thus far for us. Daniel Wagon hasn't made his way here. You have done a great job in getting rid of the dead wood from the club.

Don't f**k it all up in hiring David Vaealiki.

That is all.
