Adelaide Rams

I think Adelaide will return to top tier sometime in the future. Just not as Adelaide.

They will be based, and play in Adelaide. But they will be called Southern.

Likewise with Perth, they will be Western or West Coast if they can get away with it.

Gone will be the days of naming franchises after cities.

This is bad.

West Coast and Western are both far worse names than Perth.
And so it would be for Adelaide.

Perth and Adelaide are internationally known cities. What does Western or Southern represent, from a brand name, first impression perspective? Nothing.

Cities are marketable. Directions are not. Hopefully someone slaps some sense into West Coast Pirates on this before they actually enter the NRL

West Coast is probably trying to piggyback on the AFL team. Some logic to it.

Yeah lol if there’s a team called Southern I will give up.
Look at the schmozzel of Northern Pride when they went to nsw last year...

Adelaide or die.
And hopefully ‘Wests’ sort their shit out soon

West coast was chosen as we have strong RL presence in SW and north of state and they want the club to be inclusive of these areas

I’ve just moved to Adelaide and now flying the flag to bring back the Rams...

Yes I’m out on the frontier much like this bloke, on my own making acquaintance with these native peoples whose language or actions I can’t yet comprehend. This “football” they all speak of in their own dialect... odd...

One day maybe more of my people will come to help expand my current outpost and farmland for the beloved Rams to graze and graze and graze... A man can dream can’t he..

will it even be the Rams, or will it just be a total new entity eg Gold Coast Titans have no ties to the former GC club

You poor bastard, at least John J Dunbar met with civilised natives.

You get failed Victorians, the worst of the worst.

What is Adelaide like?

Personally I love it here. I live north of the city up near the hills and vineyards..

As a city, it’s small but plenty to do. Think something akin to Newcastle as somewhat of a comparison. And if you go out on the town, the bouncers welcome you in, not treat you like your a criminal for wanting to enter. They treat you like adults, not criminals. Lock out laws?? Pfft..

Within half an hour drive of the city you are in the Adelaide hills, and vineyards. And it reminds me of where and when I grew up in the 70/80’s of the Sutherland shire. Shops shut at 5pm on weekends too.

To quote another of my favourite films.. Pulp Fiction.. like Vincent Vega describing his trip to Amsterdam..

“it’s the little differences”..

IGA isnt IGA, it’s “Foodland”
Dance isn’t Dance, it’s “Dar-nce”
Football isn’t football, it’s “Aussie Rules”
And if you want petrol, you don’t go to a 7/11, speedway, or the like.. you go to “Mogas”..

But sadly, no Rams..

And the Adelaide Oval is my favourite sporting venue in the country. Anyone who is considering coming over for origin, you’ll have brilliant days in the vineyards, brilliant nights in the city, and an awesome venue for the best sporting event on the calendar year..

Actually... the SA Tribe detest Victorians as much, possibly even more so than us NSW folk do..

When meeting many people over here, they have been kind and very welcoming to me being from Sydney... much like the Sioux tribe, curious and welcoming of John Dunbar despite their differences...

To the South Australian, the Victorian is a much despised tribe... effectively the Pawnee Tribe.. a hatred that goes back generations but climaxed in the mid-90’s....

Melbourne Stole their Grand Prix...

The hatred remains.
