The Godfather is my favourite film of all time and imo the greatest of all time but what was so "heart pounding" about it?

IDK I grew up in an era forced fed with violence. I can remember watching Terminator 2 and The Running Man when I was in year 2 and not being worried by violence so the top 3 had no effect on me and tbh Jaws is a pretty boring film.

Only Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Godfather are films from that top 20 I like.

Is this list 11 years old snoozer or is that a misprint

THe movies on here between 1950 and 1980 shows what a golden period that was

Not sure what the criteria actually is for this list - it appears to be a list of thrillers, with some strange additions (ET? Wizard of Oz?). But surely Se7en deserves a mention in it somewhere.

They need to split it up between 'horrors' and 'thrillers' because the top of the list makes you think it's a horror list but scrolling down you see some films that should never be on there.

I mean is it about being scared or thrilled? Films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, well any good action movie gets your heart racing, but films like Jaws and The Exorcist make your heart pound in a different way.
