Wanna talk shockers, ho0w about Cleve's efforts!

If we're talking shockers, the conversation starts and ends with Hawthorn's showing today!

I would argue that Sam Mitchell and Campbell Brown were the only two players who could argue a case for winning their positions (Hodge may have got there, had he been left in the midfield all day) and the only genuine positive to come out of the game was the continuing solid form of Grant Birchall.

Vandenberg tried hard but was typically awful (I call upon him to do the right thing and retire at season's end), Smith is past it (should finish out his career at Box Hill in 2007), Barker is the second last remaining Fitzroy player in action, and played just like a dinosaur (must retire at season's end, and I'd expect to see Dowler in the top side sooner rather than later providing his fitness holds). You can talk about the value of experience all you like, but if the experience on offer is of this calibre, its definitely more of a liability than anything else.

St Kilda showed the grit and determination that could them over the line in horror conditions against Sydney and were far too good across the whole game. Reiwoldt was superb up front and while he didn't star, the Saints would have been happy with the first-up showing from ruckman Michael Rix. Robert Harvey was great again, but it would have been nice to see him with an actual opponent! Brendon Goddard was also allowed to run free throughout the day, but even allowing for that, I can see how well he is coming along as a player (could be the newest example of a Travis Johnstone style slow-burn realisation of his potential). Gehrig & Milne did more than enough to earn their pay, as did Dal Santo, as is per usual.

If votes were being awarded on the Hawthorn side, I'd expect to get the 3, 2 and the 1 for sitting through every single second of this tosh; just wishing the Dragons had of been on the tube with the Hawks having the bye!

Rubbish and then some from the AFL team with by far the bioggest gap between its best and worst. Definitely not a game I'll be downloading from aussietorrents.com!

Rant over, going to drink alcohol!

Hawthorn is only 4 games clear with 9 to play (and coming into a horror month).

Don't put your glasses down yet, its still very much game on!

Richo definately won't play according to the coaching staff quoted in the paper. Although given Sarge clearly will play (As absent this afternoon) would question the need to play Staff.

On todays form, I mut say, I would expect to see Dean Limbach (You know one of those young KPP we allegedly don't have ...) in seniors before Cleve gets another run.

Wanna talk shockers, ho0w about Cleve's efforts!

Agreed, Limbach was great.

So you would play sarge up forward? Im thinking they might stay with Staff at FF and have sarge in the backline, given the tall forward line of Collingwood. Who knows?

Although that would be crazy considering how many goals he has kicked for Coburg recently.

Wish the game was tonight!!!!! I loooooooove Collingwood games!

Fantastic recovery from the Tigers to lift markedly and thump the Magpies today.

The Tigers far too good on the day, and the Collingwood loss couldn't have come at a better time, given that Magpie arrogance was tilting toward the stratosphere.

Buggered if I can work it out.

Another dark day in what is rapidly becoming an annus horribilus for Geelong, smashed by 15 goals in the City of Churches.

YEEEEEEEAAAHHHHH CARN THE TIGES! Beat the scummers fair and square.

Last week what were we hearing about the Pies..? Premiership favourites, most attacking forward line, playing the most attractive footy in the AFL - HAHA Yeah and bobs my uncle :sarcasm:

Can the AFL please in future roster all our HOME games at the MCG, we're 4/4 so far this year and had a great record at the G last year. It is at least a four goal advantage... and when compared to the Dump it equals to about a 6 goal advantage.

The only downer was Richmond once again lost a star player, with a long term injury. Hopefully Newman can get back on the running track before the end of the year so he could be ready for mid next season next year. It really made me sick at the game watching it and seeing the replay. He is the most under-rated players in the AFL, one of our most consistent and best... and to top it of, he is one of the nicest blokes in the AFL.

Heres to a speedy recovery :b:

They are saying double break, same os Brown's.

Given Chris has doen this a month later than Nathan, in the hope they have learnt something from rushing Browny back - I wouldn't expect to see Newie back before halfway through next season.

The only dark spot on what was a joyous day for the Richmond FC. Well that and the fact I didn't have a camera to take a photo of the scoreboard at halftime.

8 points in a half of football you filthy scum. 8 POINTS
