So whats this about Akka maybe coming to Richmond?

Craig you probably at 100% against it, but personally... I'd love to have him at Richmond.. as long as he signs a strict contract and cuts down on media etc...

Looks like the Dogs are also after him?

If we could work a deal involving Everitt somehow (via a 3 way with Sydney), I'd be very interested in getting Aker to Hawthorn.

I'm not too fussed with what he says. Its not as if he's a thug or a drunken disgrace off the park and his on-field form has remained strong through the Brisbane taper.

Is a class player and would bring much needed short-term oomph to a midfield light-on for classy outside finishing.

Can't see it eventuating though, sob!

Richmond strike me as a more likely destination, although it all comes down to what Brisbane are asking and what potential suitors can provide.

The president has recently said Acker goes against our chosen rebuilding path.

I love Acker :)

Why? Has his media commitments ever influenced the way he plays on the park? No.

I am against it, yes but not for the reasons you may think.

I think we have a ton of HFF at the club, talented ones at that. Acker is the best in the biz, but are we going to win the premiership in the next 2 seasons? Not likely, therefore is it worth wasting a draft pick on him?

I'd rather chase a KPP defender, especially one of the ones at Geelong.

Footscray/Hawthorn for mine would be great destinations. Would give both something they miss at the moment. I could see Footscray looking at more KPP again this year though after the disasters they have had during the season.

Amen.

Throw Aker onto one wing and Ellis on the other, while shifting Bateman to the bench as backup and we're looking a lot more lively and skillful out wide.

Although, given the Lethal to return home rumours that surface every now again ... Would that scare Jason off? lol

Even though it'll never happen...

Definately mate, that's one thing I have always said about your mob, good insides, not so good outsides. With a KPP line slowly startng to come ntp place, getting Jason could only be a positive.

Which one?

Personally, I think there's a greater likelihood of Aker (however improbable right now) of getting to Hawthorn than there is of Lethal returning.

Ahh sorry mate, I meant lethal to return will never happen.

On too good a wicket in the red neck state to let sentiment get in the road.

Yes, I would be thinking that he'd be prone to retiring to the Gold Coast to spend his weeks playing golf, with a little bit of high paid media work interspersed.

I also suspect that his best days re: coaching are behind him anyway.

Getting back to Aker, would the Bulldogs really be that interested in him?

I would think they have a surplus of pacy, skilled running types (even if they may not be as good as Aker).

Depends on how close to a premiership they think they are.

If they can keep some of their taller players on the park next season, in particular Darcy and Grant plays on (Which I suggest he will - What could possibly make up for the Brownlow he was cheated out of? A premiership medalion of course!) - They are going to be very difficult to beat.

If they could arrange a deal with Brisbane that involves a player and a lesser draft pick I'd think they would take him.

Although, he wouldn't fit into Rocket's management style I wouldn't think.

I wouldn't say its a definite, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see him head north.

Everitt is a good footballer, but gut feeling says he is entering the injury prone sphere, and his body language has been poor at times this season.

We will lose a bit short-term in the ruck, but Campbell has been a vastly improved player this season, and Bailey (despite his age and rough edges) has impressed with his capacity to tap to advantage.

If we were to lose Everitt and gain Akermanis I think we would be better off overall, however, as our inside midfielders are not averse to sharking hits, and delivery inside 50 (and extra midfield goal kicking capacity) from a player like Akermanis would be a big boost not only to our midfield division, but to our reshaping forward structure as well.

I also think that Akermanis would have more to prove after his experiences at Brisbane this year, whereas Everitt has given the impression that in his head he's chasing rainbows elsewhere.

Collingwood (should be far too good);
Sydney (premiership favourites for mine);
West Coast (too much run for the Kangas);
Richmond (tough one, but Tigers look in better shape);
Bulldogs (7th loss in a row for Port);
Adelaide (an upset looms, but the Crows deserve faith);
Geelong (its win or forget the finals for the Cats); and
Carlton (likely to be tight, but Fevola gives Blues an edge).

-------------------------------------------------------------

Adelaide vs Fremantle deserves MOTR status.

Collingwood is most definitely the 'lock' of the round.

High stakes for the Tigers and the Lions, with the loser to officially exit the finals race. The Tigers look steadier, but will have to be very mindful of Power & Bradshaw.

Melbourne are gone for mine.

Big lift needed from Hawthorn, who can officially exit the wooden spoon race with a win here.

Not sure I'd really want Aker at Western. On the one hand he annoys the bejesus out of me BUT for all his BS I think he would bring some competitive fight & more importantly I think he will be busting his hump to show Brisbane they buggered up. So at the very least whoever gets him will get a committed, team player for at least 12 months.

Pies
Demons
Eagles
Lions
Bulldogs
Crows
Saints
Hawks.

  1. Collingwood ..... :lol: :lol: :lol:
  2. Good to see Sheedy instruct his players to spend half the game playing 'basketball' .... hypocritical f**kwit

We were having our juniors get together at Don Boscos last night and I said to one of the Bombers fans that I was worried about the game.

With the Blues playing Hawthorn, I figured the Bombers still had one good game left in them. What I didn't figure on was, the Pies playing so poorly.

Anyway, I thought they (the Pies) lacked ticker, the skills even some of our U10's have and a real lack of desire to win. Hard to believe they were a team in 6th place on the ladder. Maybe the Adelaide game did take a fair bit out of them.

Anyway, later on we got to talking about who you could trade to get Akermanis to the club, or even if you would. Tarrant and Rocca maybe plaus a 1st round draft pick. Is Aker even worth the risk?

Collingwood just lack something and maybe Akermanis is that sort of guy.
