Eagles 17-7 i believe was the free kick count at the end of the day

Yes it was. How do you drag yourself back into the game when one umpire is clearly biased against you? (Allen)

That is ALL I have to say about the game.

Essendon supporters - Preciesly where did the Scummers finish this year? I wouldn't be hurling abuse at Richmond given the truly pathetic ladder position your club occupies...

Still dont know about Freo or Sydney but i dont see how they'll be able to beat the Eagles or Crows... Looks like the team that I "least" hate in the finals is Melbourne so im hoping they get up, although outside Collingwood they are the worst team in the 8 so it doesn't look good.

Freo have beaten both the Crows & Eagles in the last month.

With regards to who to cheer?

So long as the Cup doesn't end up in the Lexus Centre does it really matter who wins?

Freo are on a roll.

This is finals we are talking about, something Fremantle doesn't know much about... I defenetely think they'll get to the prelim's but doubt it will be to the big one.

I wont be cheering for anyone lol... just hate Melbourne the least out of all the clubs left so if anyone is to win it i'ld want it to be them.

We know we are sh*t lol, but its nice when the club of someone whose given your club sh*t all year surrenders meekly in the final game:)

Richmond certainly have some good signs, if they actually win the games they should they'd make the finals.

Essendon will improve next year, maybe not finals but definately improve.

Well, all finals positions now sorted and you'll get no argument from me that the 8 sides in there weren't the sides that deserved to be there.

Excellent wins by Sydney & Collingwood to snare the important fourth and fifth spots heading into next week. I would think that the game at Subiaco, in particular, will be an absolute beauty.

Happy to see John Barker get to go out with a win today in a game that Geelong will certainly want to put behind them rather quickly. Forgettable end to a forgettable season for the purrers.

Not much more to say really, other than that Grant Birchall should finish the season as the best performed first year player in the competition, and with two BOGs from the last 3 games may well have snared a place in the forthcoming Rising Star.

Nice lock of the year kev :)

Grrr.

Note to self.

No club in the comp is softer in a big match than the Demons!

It pays to always keep the basics in mind when venturing forth with the grand statements.

Anytime you miss out on the wooden spoon is a good time.

At any rate, it may save your club from making the soft decision, which Gibbs may well be.

It also wouldn't surprise me if Carlton didn't take him first anyway.

There's plenty of quality on offer in this top ten, let me tell you.

I'd rather get the spoon and then definaelt take bryce gibbs rather than waiting for carlton to pass him up which I doubt! There may be quality in the top 10, but if gibbs is as good as he is sounding like in terms of his possessions, then there may not be any one near as good as gibbs.

a) You need be careful when making assessments based predominantly on possession counts these days;

b) Essendon need quality talls as much as they need quality midfielders, if not more; and

c) Gibbs concerns me inasmuch as he was very, very keen to stay and play in SA.

Not that I'm saying he isn't a good player, nor that he won't go number one.

We have Lucas and Lloyd in our forward line. Hille is a fine ruckman. Our CHB is a problem yes, but not as much as our dreadfully slow midfield! Look I hope Essendon trade heavily this year. In the end I am prepared to go 3 yrs finishing near last if it means the quality of play improves. We need midfielders not CHB, CHF positions at the moment. I'll be happy to take a punt on a CHB/CHF in the pick 20 sort of area.
