Not even most murders get anywhere near a weeks coverage let alone one or two racial comments so why the hell wouldn't it be forgotten over a week later?

The main reason why the Johns v Tahu thing is dragging on is because Tahu is playing the matyr and talking to anyone/everyone who cares to listen and even those who don't. He's made his point, made his stance and if he just STFU then everyone in Sydney would move on too. It really isn't that hard a concept to grasp.

what are you on Victorian

Tahu has said sweet FA

Ahhh right on cue El Dipsh*t. You mustve been in a Valium induced daze in the last 24 hors because Tahu was all over every news service just yesterday fighting the good fight and continuing to talk about the incident a week after the fact you deluded parramatta f**kwit.

I'll say it again, the sooner Tahu stops playing the martyr by talking to every man and his dog and pretty much anyone in the street the sooner everyone will move on.

Agreed that issue did die a lot quicker than it really should have.

But I spose what Im trying to say is that its not correct that just cause the AFL CEO made a statement that it immediately dies in the arse.

Being in a different city (or even country) you can be out of touch with the local media and whats a big issue.

Like some clowns post on here that NFL players are "smart" and never get into any trouble, or that English Soccer teams never change there jersey's etc.
All the issues die quicker than they should have in the AFL.

Remember the frozen chicken thing by the Kangaroos last year. Forgotten about after a week.

The betting on games by officials, massive scandal, forgotten about after a few days.

Fevola and his nude picture of Lara Bingle. Lasted 2 weeks more because of Bingle's deteriorating relationship with Michael Clarke.

Lets face it, the AFL sweep EVERY negative story under the carpet quickly.

You know what I thought the same thing when it was revealed just last month that an AFL played had sex with a minor.

Pretty serious offence, but the media revealed she gave consent and apparently thats ok.

The whole issue about her being a minor was completely ignored.

And swept under the carpet, took a week to clean that up.

I bet the AFL racism stuff is forgotten by Friday next week
.

Have a look in todays AFL freindly Age newspaper. Dredging up the johns incident while glossing over AFL's problems. Talking up a possible $1 billion TV rights deal.

And those "aborigine's" and "canibals" in the southern states have shut their mouths?

This is spot on, I remember when two star Collingwood players where involved in a car crash whilst drunk, yet the whole story was manipulated to concentrate on the fact they lied to the club about the incident NOT the fact they could have killed somebody by drink driving and no-one in the media questioned it.

In the current incident re racism the AFL have been able to sit back watch the criticism fired at RL then act so as to give off the best image and then everyone can sit back and say how well they do things.

Lets compare the way they act when they can't learn from league's mistakes.

dead link but even the media know there is a difference

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25414954-7583,00.html

Whenever there's a drama in the AFL, all the protagonists and main players rally together for the good of the code, arguing that one isolated incident should not be allowed to besmirch this great game.

While the blood-letting runs unchecked in Sydney, in Melbourne everyone is holding hands and saying it's time to move on, often before the fight has even started.
