AFL Preliminary Finals Tips

Collingwood v Port Adelaide at the MCG - Eddie-wood by 8. Gee, I'd loved to see Port get just to see the look on Eddie's face and make it a non-Victorian grand final but I'll stick with the 'Pies.

Sydney v Brisbane at Telstra Stadium - Lions by 14. Despite losing twice to the Swans this year, I'm tipping the Lions to make their 3rd grand final in-a-row.

Collingwood V Port Adelaide: Port seem to be the AFL darlings of 2003 - especially after Lade got off scot free at the judiciary midweek, when if there was any parity and fairness in the system, he would have got at least 1 week, probably should have got 2 or 3. Collingwood will lead from the front, but P{ort are about the only team i can see matching it with the pies in the last quarter, when the pies usually run over the top of teams. Port by 24

Sydney V Brisbane Lions
Finals newbies V Back to Back Premiers. Nuff said. Brisbane by 30+

Im actually hoping (for the 1st time ever) that Brisbane do win the flag this year, god knows what'll happen if any of the others win it.....

I agree with Dougie on both counts...

I'll differ slightly on margins...

LIONS by 28 pts

POWER by 19 pts

Port to win by 20 - still the team to beat. All the choke talk after the first week didn't give credit to Sydney for their efforts. Their win last week shows they have a lot more toughness about them than their previous finals records suggest. Game over for Eddie.

Swans to win by 12 - no one gives us credit but that's OK. Despite the defeat, the Collingwood game is ideal preparation for the Swans in terms of big game experience. With a home crowd behind them, look for a big game from Barry Hall to get the Swans over the line.

Collingwood by 30. Clearly the best side in the comp at the moment. Buckley to have another blinder.

Lions by 18. Unlike Port, Brisbane wont under-estimate (at finals time), what is basically a pretty average team.

Collingwood best team in the comp atm??!!

What the hell were you on when you posted that!!!

Collingwood are the AFL Darlings - whilst teams like Essendon have tough road trips frequently....Collingwood didnt have to travel for 11 Straight rounds....thats the reason why they are up the ladder so high.

Their list is ordinary at best. They have few star players, and once Buckley retires - they are buggered!

Port. Simply because my hard earned has been on 'em for 3 consecutive & bugger me if I dont deserve to get a return ONE BLOODY YEAR!

Sydney. My Blue blood means I have to pick them. The fact that I despise Akkkermanis & watching/hearing the neanderthal gives me a bad case of the green apple splatters means I want to. God help us all if he really does become a Swan next year! :?

Collingwood are the first team into the grand final after beating Port by 44 points.

The Power continue to fail to deliver when it most matters while the Magpies will no doubt be favourites to win their first flag since 1990.

Both games went according to script.

Collingwood showed they why they are the best in the comp, and the Lions didn't take the Swans lightly when it counted.

Sadly for the Pies though, I think the loss of Anthony Rocca may well cost them a GF victory next week.
