1 down, 136 to go but whos counting?

:lol::lol::lol:

There's a dartboard in your garage with his face stuck on it, isn't there!

Truth be told, I am glad we don't have him any more. There were a lot who said he played well, especially in 2008, but I simply could never see what they say.

He was always a man with more potential than any forward I've ever seen, but had a heart and brain the size of a pea. I'm glad he's playing better at Easts if only for his sake, but that's as far as my mushy sentiment goes.

I'd take him back

Rothfield reckons Bennett wouldn't.

I don't feel anything negative towards Ryles.

I couldn't help but laugh at the knock on though.

He's had a good season for the Rorters and I reckon next year he will improve again and become one of the Top 5 props.

I'm tipping him to be NSW prop with Weyman next year.

Should have been this year instead of that nuffy Perry.

Steela, a good majority of Saints supporters backed Jason Ryles in this forum and other forums, and continue to do so.

Of course, people are entitled to their opinion.

yeh to be fair I think DAFers went easy on him in 2008, he had a pretty good year!
but before that I noticed he (along with barrett) copped a lot of sh*t... especially when he was sporting the porn star mo

Yesterdays efforts by Ryles were exactly as I remember him playing for us, always either dropping the ball or giving away the stupid penalty at the most inopportune time of the game. Do we want him back? Thanks, but no thanks.

I would take him back every day of the week based on his form this year. His error yesterday was no worse then some our own forwards have put in this year. He was baited all day yesterday and gave away 1 penalty, there are other players who would of been far worse.

well i miss quentin.

if he hadn't copped that uber-serious shoulder injury 6-7 years ago, i'd say we'd be lauding one of the all-time great front rowers.

the injury was so bad, he had to basically learn how to catch & pass again let alone tackle etc.

before the injury, the guy was amazing. he could actually ball-play before & through the line. this is unbelievably rare for a prop. most of the great front-rowers can only promote through the line. quentin's years as a halfback as a youngster must have influenced this ability.

now think of how many props you are aware of that are virtual play-makers before the line.

the injury had a devastating effect on him because his passing & off-loading were suddenly severely (SEVERELY) curtailed resulting in that gay flop out the back routine he offered. and yet for all this the big nice person was still able to make rep sides.

adding further to the guy's ability is his personality. he is one smart & funny f*cker off the field.

i miss you quentin! i touch myself whilst clutching your autograph! xx

oops - did i say that out loud?

It shouldn't matter.

I'm sure Saints players sledge them both on the field. Watched the game again and they were certainly pushing Rylesy's buttons yesterday.

I never bought into the whole 'it's the fan's fault why players leave'. Stinks of cop-out. Any player who seriously believes something as lame as that wouldn't make it to first grade imo. They should be made of sterner stuff. Sure, they might blab something in the media as a parting shot, but they were on their way out by then and any excuse will do. Something that some fans to take to heart.

It's just turned into an excuse for certain supporters to take offence at other supporters for holding an opinion contrary to their own.

A dartboard with his face on it that's absurd! ...it's good ol fashioned voodoo for me!

Couldn't agree with you more when he first came into grade I was impressed but after 2002 he just kept falling further from grace in my book. Silly penalities, stupid flick passes 10m from our tryline and always trying to get that miracle offload away, very overratted not to mention he was out injured every second week.

He mentioned on the footy show the other night that he would have liked to have left Saints 2-3 years earlier than he did, which is no great surprise he looked like a very frustrated, unhappy and cranky footballer to me, if there is one player I don't miss it would have to be him not mention the massiver over he was getting paid.
