Registered Clubs Act 1976 No.31 Section 30(d)

(d) A person shall not:
(i) attend or vote at any meeting of the club or of the governing body or any committee of the club, or
(ii) vote at any election of, or of a member of, the governing body of the club,
as the proxy of another person.

You'll need to dig a bit deeper methinks. These two clubs allow postal votes.

Postal voting is what we've always wanted. The argument against will always be cost though. Forget proxy voting, that's not happening.

Cost is no problem. If voting occurs every 3 years just increase yearly membership fees by 18c.

That's a 55c stamp costed over 3 years.

there's a glaring hole in your plan ... voting is every 2 years .... no one is gonna wannt pay 28c more each year

It's blown budget again
Stamps are 60 cents

Bulk Post costs are only $0.555 per item so Strider was okay with $0.28c per year, however we would lose if we didnt cover the cost of envelopes, labels and possibly return postage...

My 'analysis' (and I am not an analyst) says we should charge an extra $1.00 per year to cover all costs. ;-)

The definition of it has been removed and it was done at a board meeting in 2010 from what I've heard and not an AGM.

1) Changes to the constitution must be done at an AGM ro SGM.

2) The last few AGM notices have not mentioned this change

64th AGM 2010 Notes
http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showpost.php?p=7077644&postcount=1942
65th AGM 2011 Notes (For 2010 fin year)
http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=394551

As such if the change has been made, it has been made in direct contravention of the Constitution itself Section 80 which states and again I am summarising, that the constitution can only be amended by a Special resolution, passed by a 3/4th majority of members present and entitled to vote at an AGM or General Meeting (SGM) and members must be advised 21 days before any meeting that the change is to be made.

Since this does not appear in the 2010 and 2011 notices of AGM or indeed the recent notice of AGM I can only assume that it hasn't happened and if it has well we need to get a higher power in NSW law enforcement on to it toot-sweet.
