I knew you'd be able to blame the board for it somehow

Jokes aside Mickdo, can you explain it ? There are plenty here who questioned his character around the time that report came out. Is he a fit and proper person in your view ?

It truly is quite bizzarre. And then you have Pricey saying Sharp and Kolc are making fools of themselves and now he has to work with them??

ffs - piss all these old footballers off and get a real board !!!

When politics is the name of the game, political decisions are made

Nope, but it isn't as if he doesn't have support, and like it or not that is the reality

So tell me, do you think he is fit to be on the board?

without knowing the full story it is hard to judge, we have to remember this is for the football club elections and not the licensed club, so different regulations may apply.

It's only the football club board. I think ex footballers are ideal.

It's a different story for the leagues club board.

My money would be on the fact that the guys who pulled put suddenly did so with a view to creating an impression that there would be a contest ... Leaving the newcomers unopposed.

That should be taken with extreme caution as it is complete conjecture. However someone made the point last week that pricey went to a great deal of trouble to send the tulio decision to members, as if a
stoush was anticipated.

It may be that there were issues resolved elsewhere which have rise to it.

I have no idea about kolc's "character" and wouldn't recommend anyone discuss it on here.

However I find it interesting that one of his platforms
was putting an end to expensive investigations and audits ... the last letter from that CEO suggests that his
conduct in
certain aspects of engaging contractors etc is one of the key subjects of investigation.

On the election thread MITS has provided an awesome summary of the meeting.

Conspiracy theorists could go wild.

You read how petty some of it gets and makes you glad you weren't there!

Maybe we should give all
comcerned the benefit of the doubt that they are acting maturely and for the benefit of the club?

One of the funniest AGMs I have been to yet. Old men with agendas are hilarious.. Spagnolo came across as a rude so and so IMO tho. When ppl were getting up for General Busines he was quite short and rude in his answers.

When there's real money in running an NRL club we might get some real businessmen involved.

Until then the best we can hope for is an insanely wealthy fan or two who are happy to pour their millions into a lost cause.

The problem is the clubs are independent from the league and from each other. A franchise system might be too "American" but it's a much better way to guarantee the money is spread around all the clubs.

It should read Jarryd Hayne reinvented rugby league.

Obviously Cayless pulled out because he intends to come back and play in 2011. Kearney is currently mulling whether to play him at halfback or centre. :sarcasm:

Well he had me off side from the start when he refered to Jarryd Hayne as "Haynes". He's pretty much your star, get his name right! :x

But when Denis asked who was chairing the meeting was hilarious. Watching Ozzie slowly slide the mic across like a naughty kid... GOLD!
