Just wanted to give this bloke a wrap.

On Saturday night, Piggy Riddell was making a point of going after Weyman, giving him sh*t all night. Eventually it came to blows, and Piggy gave him a cheap serve as Weyman was sent, trying to get under his skin.

10 minutes later, Riddell comes back on the field, takes a run and BANG! Tongue comes up with a cruncher of a tackle on a bloke eleven kilos heavier than him, lifted the fat turd up and dumped him on his arse. He then followed this up with some stern words straight in Piggy's face as he lay on the ground, sticking up for his teammate.

I loved it, and it just showed how much passion Tongue has for his mates and for the Raiders. Great stuff, an inspirational leader.

Alan Tongue is the type of player that makes me love this team. He's the perfect captain/role model for our young fellas at the moment - shows respect, committment and passion every game.

I would not prefer to have any other lock or captain for my team full stop.

Tongue is all heart. A perfect captain for a young team. Leads by example through a tremendous work ethic and a never say die attitude. Unforunately, his size and talent level will probably prevent him from playing origin. I think if he was a QLD'er he would get a run, it's just that NSW selectors tend to pick more 'flashy' players with size. I think he is better than Dallas Johnson who appears to have the no.13 jersey stitched up 4 a few years in the QLD origin team.

The only way he'd get picked is if NSW wake up and actually choose someone who can play dummy half or the backrow, rather than a specialist back getting token minutes at dummy half. Saw highlights of NSW training and Bird was getting reps at hooker....

He wouldn't let anyone down but in an age where athletes are being picked over footballers it doesn't surprise me.
