Glenn is a good player & (reportedly) a great bloke off the field. It's fantastic to see a Brisbane player who's well liked amongst supporters. However, I find the level of praise to be a bit OTT & wanted to mention McGuire because his performance was superior and has been for the majority of the season.

I'm not the only person (or Brisbane fan in fact) who felt that way about Glenn in this thread but you chose to single me out and put words in my mouth.

Well, Glenn has his own thread thanks to Armageddon's enthusiasm, and even managed to captain his country for a second or two!

I think we mostly agree he is a fine player with a lot of potential. He is a product of a great system that seems to churn out quality and mature young players regularly. Some are gushing that he is the best back rower in the game or first picked for NZ, and I think that really is OTT.

I'm sure Big Pete was just trying to point out that maybe he isn't quite the best yet, and that even some others from his club side are still better (maybe, say, Thaiday, Parker, McGuire, Civoniceva, Hannant, Gillett... Glenn is fine but there are quite a few better forwards even in his club. Give him a few years though and he may be the best).

Plus he did use his uber skills and pick up on a Fourex anti NSW agenda. Imagine that.

Good to see everyone observing the golden rule of reasoned debate "always interpret your opponent's argument generously". Now gather round children, let's join hands and sing "Kumbia" as we extend our love for Brother Glenn to Brother Pete.

I don't think there's any need to downplay how impressive Glenn is for the benefit of pushing McGuire's cart. I don't think either are more impressive than the other tbh. McGuire was robbed of an Origin position this year and has been, along with Glenn, the best forward in the Broncos side this season and Glenn has been one of the most impressive young players in the comp this year and has become a huge defensive and attacking weapon and one of the best all around players in the comp. I get that you feel the need to drum it into those that aren't Broncos fans that McGuire is good but I don't think you'll find anybody disagreeing so it's unnecessary and kind of insulting to those of us that rate Glenn highly to say that he is overrated. Like our opinions are novice compared to yours.

It's an opinion that's shared amongst Broncos supporters, especially those who question Hook's use of the bench. We have two forwards who have been good enough to get selected for Origin, yet they barely get half a game of football while Glenn constantly receives 80 minutes?
