Alex Johnston - greatest try scorer in Australian Rugby League history.

213 tries in 245 games.

1 try off the bench from 2 games.
23 tries at fullback from 61 games.
189 tries on the wing from 182 games.

More than a try a game on the wing from over 180 games. Mental.

Always in the right spot. Always hits the ball at pace with perfect timing.

What a player.

I think the first fan to run to AJ after he scored was a Roosters fan.
That young Roosters fella will be the guy everyone sees for the next 50 years until the record is broken again. He was right in there and was the only one I saw dragged away by security.
By that time, there were about 2,000 other people there and there was nothing security could do.

I would hate to think anybody will be fined / banned from tonight, but if it's going to be anyone, it'll be that fella. He's the face of the pitch invasion.

Well said, love how humble the guy is. Always thought he had been treated badly by selectors. Great night for him and his family

Like how you wrote in Australian Rigby League history because Ken Irvine never played in the NRL AJ broke the NRL record the day he scored more tries than Billy Slater.

As an aside, how many tries would Irvine have scored if he was able to have touched the corner post ?

We're only 2 rounds in, with ~170 games left to play.
There'll no doubt be plenty of incredible tries scored during that time but, for me, based on pure elation, nothing will beat that.

What a moment to witness, and what a way to bring it up.
I'm really happy for him to finally get there and to receive the celebration of the thousands rushing the field to congratulate him.
And to do it with a quality try, starting deep inside Rabbits territory, against the old foe and during the main Friday night match just adds to it all.

Well done, Alex.

Just to the argument, and I’m sure someone can sit and watch all 213 tries but how many has he scored touching the corner posts anyway?

Scored his 200th try yesterday and became only the 2nd player to reach a double century along side the great Ken Irvine.
Barring something very disastrous, he should also score the 13 needed tries either this year or early next season to take top spot.

I know Rabbitohs fans love and hold him in high regard but what do fans of other clubs think of him ?
How will his achievement be remembered after he has retired ?
He has hardly ever been looked at for rep games even when he was at his peak so just wanted know what everyone else thinks of him.

- The first player ever to score 200 tries for one club
That fact in scoring his tries for one club impresses me. In this day and age when clubs and players so often disregard contracts, he is a stand out. He has always been a safe, positional winger, who was always in the right spot and the right time, and those efforts now see him as the greatest try scorer in our game. I also saw Kenny Irvine play. Kenny probably was faster then Alex, and was very elusive. Irvine's greatness is evident in having gone on three Kangaroo tours, and being nominated in the "Australian RL team of the century. That in no way diminishes the greatness of Alex Johnston, but shows that the record he has now obtained as his own, was taken from another great of the past.

I'm entirely apathetic towards the existence of Albo but man, some people will do anything to have a whinge and make a historic moment about their fake outrage instead.

The bloke is at the very least an authentic Rabbits fan. But I guess "lifelong Souths fan joins tens of thousands of others in celebration of Alex Johnston" doesn't have the same bite as a headline.

It's the people game, I was happy that Albo invaded the pitch aswell. Not only that I was happy to see so many people invaded the pitch when the establishment told them not to, or they will be all fined, Better luck with that.
