ALL ABOARD THE EELS SUPPORTER BUS FOR GRIFFITH TRIAL FEBRUARY ‘09

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Pirtek Parramatta Eels Supporters Club is planning a weekend trip to Griffith to coincide with the Eels v Panthers trial match at Exies Oval on Saturday, 14 February 2009.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The trip will span two days and will only go ahead if sufficient interest is received.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]TIIME: Departing Parramatta Leagues Club at 8.00am Saturday returning approximately 6pm Sunday. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]COST: $185.00 per person twin/double share with an extra $35.00 if a single room is desired.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]ITINERARY: [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Saturday: Travelling from Parramatta to Goulburn for morning tea, on to Yass for lunch (own cost), tour through Harden and Ardlethan to Griffith arriving about 4.15pm.

Depart motel at 4.45pm for game and dinner then back to motel around 9.30pm.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Sunday: Cooked breakfast at motel, then travel through Ardlethan, Temora and Young to Cowra for lunch at Quarry Restaurant & Cellars (included). Afternoon tour via Bathurst and Lithgow arriving back at Parramatta around 6pm.[/FONT]

Griffith is a trip I am yet to do.. And wont be doing it next year. I would be chosing my own itinerary if I did. :lol:

Having seen the quality of people on the trip to Newcastle two years ago, i think i'll pass too.

I remember doing the Bus Trip to the (then) Marathon Stadium to watch the boys play Newie.. OMG it was the most excruciating trip I have endured since i was stuck on an Air NZ flight to NZ and the Australian Golden Oldies Line Dancing Troupe were sitting around me and my friends ...

I still remember, I was sitting upstairs on the Double Decker.. and I still cannot forget how loud the oldies were.. Singing their 99 bottles of beer and certain people. Not to mention the fact that I forgot to take a Discman (shows how long ago it was) as i had never before experienced the pain that was a Supporters Club bus trip.

I would prefer to get a group together and hire a Mini Bus and do the trip with people who you can at least enjoy the company of (and some bevvies along the way) and of course it wouldn't be a roadtrip without the obligatory Roadside photoshoot with the occasional full moon at places of interest along the way. (ahhhh remembers a certain roadtrip to Canberra a few years back - Ryan and Tezza have the hairiest asses you'll see for miles lol)

Yeah I am hoping to fly down to this one.

I do love my road tips but after doing Lismore by car one year then Lismore by plane the next, I can tell you there is no comparison that to fly to some of these regional venues.

Currently Rex lists the flight as $135 each way. But worth the time you save, especially if you can't get a group of people going together.

oh dude....we might have been on the same bus. It was the one of the worst bus trip in my life. To top that we got hammered .

The highlight of the day was meeting up with the crew. The rest was boring as bat sh*t.

if any one comes down to griffith give us yell.they normally put on a good effort when holding nrl games down here. last time they had 9,500 for the eels v storm game.
