Please, please, please, Never compare Toopi to Matai again, Steve deserves better than that

Am with Manu on the Toopi issue, still have this vision of us getting a spanking a couple of years back in Australia, they make a break, and Toopi puts zero effort into the chase.

never compare toopi to matai - your kidding right - as players if the were in a green and gold we would call them grubs. brothers from another mother.

In terms of ability or achievement - if you think toopi is not even in the same league as matai, he not as good as you obviously think.

steve deserve better than that - OMG - just like the majority of the team he has far from cemented his spot.
Steve who??

Matai is a guy that turns up to every game commited and gives 100% effort, doesn't shirk any of the hard yards, and you know what you will be getting from him every week. May not have the natural skill that Toopi does, but works hard with what he has got and is developing all the time.

Can the same be said for Toopi ?

haha, no, you need to interfere, it is the off season and petty little arguments from all corners helps us get through it :D

Anyhow, i think Toopi does have the natural ability, just the mental side of his game and applying himself seem to have been the issues with him. Will never forget the day he turned up with that spiked mohawk, hook came out for him very, very early lol

I'll never forget the step he put on a Manly defender at about the halfway line infront of the western stand at Mt Smart. He must be almost 30 years old now yea?

The Manly guy was left grasping at air, not even Benji could of pulled off a step this good. Na blitzed it 60 metres to score under the posts. Made Terry Hill look like a pie wagon.

iirc Anzac Test 2004 and 2005 (I think?) he was close to worst on ground

.

IIRC Tate took off from dummy half ran around Toopi who was facing the wrong way in retiring his 10m, burned around him past him and scored a try from within his own 20 meter mark.

Toopi is only 27

Natural talent my arse, he's a chicken-legged weenie with a hilarious "uncoordinated 12 year old girl" running style who can't catch, pass, or tackle.

Bingo, that is what sticks in my mind, the 0% effort he displayed, while wearing the black jumper

Don't remember that try, but remember another part of that game.

Hill was laying into Toopi with some of his classic sledging, Toopi took all the bait and belted Hill, who put his arms in the air and played innocent and Toopi got penalised

Not smart from Toopi, but bewildering in that that the referee did not cotton onto what was happening. Fair dinkum, it was obvious to everyone what Terry Hill was up to, except for the three blind mice refereeing the game.

I think that might of been a warriors match.

Thinking of becoming his agent Manu?

So Toopi got to give Hill a jab and he only got penalised? Well i think id rather have been Toopi.

Toopi may be sh*t these days but he did have a few good years playing for the Warriors and the Kiwis.
