I hope the passion of playing for his culture has ignited the fire within for Kerr & he really steps up for club footy. We need him to become a regular first grader.
This is his year to shine. He won’t be chopping and changing. He will be straight in the side and primed for a big one. Near man of the match tonight. Qld player award and at the right age. He is a huge bonus for us.

Really ? They seemed to be out there nearly the whole game but I'll take your word for it, I was distracted for some of the game.
Last year you could see Kerr struggling at times, he'd run back on side half doubled over but I saw none of that last night. He looks to have lost a bit of the weight he was carrying around the hips as well. I think he'll go really well for us this year, we need a big unit making metres and tiring the opposition.

Kerr played 47mins had 10 runs for 110m and made 21 tackles at 91.3%

Fuimaono played 44mins had 8 runs for 65m and made 15 tackes at 78.9%.

Maybe because he has both cultures in him...............has to sit on the fence and watch as can not decide?
He has said he would never represent Maori because he didn’t know or grow up with that side of his family and feels it would be disrespectful to represent a culture he was never part of. He sees himself as indigenous. But a bloke that only recently played origin he really should have pipped Fogarty. Shows how far he’s fallen under Mary.

Yep and as @Dragonslayer has mentioned earlier..an edge position appears to be vacant ;)

Watching that game last night, and knowing Blake Ferguson is unwanted at Parra, we could do worse than trying to lure him over early. He makes great metres and has all the skills, imo he would be a game changer for us and could help out our younger guys until they are ready.

I used to think that when at the Roosters and probably his 1st year at Parra. But now has too many brain explosions under pressure and his hands have started to let him down.
I just dont know what has happened to him.

Blake Ferguson is on big bucks, in his last years and on the way down. Not the ideal winger we are looking for. I'd rather blood the Feagai brothers instead. In 2022 we should have the basic frame of a team to build on and the salary cap to cover those key important positions we need.

I don’t think he’s on the way down. I think he will still have it for this and next year. I like him but I guess the younger guys might be quicker?

Is great at bringing the ball back. Imagine him then Rava, definitely on the front foot early in the set

Last year I wasn't impressed and probably why he isn't being resigned by Parra but he looks fit and ready to go to me. I reckon he will be like BMoz and have a good end to his career.

I wouldn't go super hard for him but if he struggled to get a club and we could get him at a bargain he would be so handy and give a bit of staunchness to our backline.

I dunno, always thought his defence was pretty ordinary at best; also, has many mistakes etc. We’ve got some okay wingers i’d just let the young blokes have a go see what they can do this year. If we wanted to go that way we would have had a crack at Mansour. Feel we’re going in a different direction now.

Need forwards not wingers.

We need one good back rower. I don’t think there are any forwards on the market better than what we currently have in the front row. If someone better become available I’d snap them up. Atm I’m pretty happy with Vaughan, Kerr, Lawrie, Alvaro and Faumausili with Ellis as backup and young Jaiyden Hunt in the mix with potentially JDB back mid year. I’m also happy with Sims and still think Ford, Blacker and Fuimaono can be great for us with some work. Ford and Blacker are a little bit off but I feel they will get there. Sims and Vaughan aren’t too far of retirement and I’d groom Ford and Blacker to fill their spots. Fuimaono probably replaces Friz for now but I’d be throwing the kitchen sink at Crichton for next season. Buying Ferguson imo would help our forwards more than any forward currently available.

200% but still need some of these types of blokes that just get you on the front foot. He has a motor - rava started to show something like what we should expect from him at the end of the year. Hopefully he can go on and improve but I still think he’s a way behind fergo

Can’t believe that we think this. I agree but my point is when did we get used to being mediocre.

Some of those players are just plain average. We used to have great players and now we have potential players. Vaughan is so friggen soft for his size. He played out of his skin when he first joined us from Canberra. Is he still the same player? Did McGregor just spoil him?

I’m not going to comment on JDB. I have no insight but he owes us big time as we’ve played so shit without him.

Sims is up there with Vaughan - could be anything. Could be nothing, could be over the hill.

Kerr is a real standout and he’s the only one that I really rate at this point.

By saying I’m happy with what we have in saying, if there is no better forwards currently available which there isn’t I would rather work with what we have than fill another precious spot with a Latimore. I would prefer to wait until someone good comes on the market. In the meantime Ferguson would help our go forward more than any forward on the market.

Yes we know under Mary, Vaughan, Sims and others dropped in there intensity and toughness. Right now we don't know how much the new coaching staff can lift these players and if the can, how long it will take.

I choose to not see these players on their 2019 - 2020 form but rather wait in anticipation to see their attitude, intensity and toughness in 2021. This is a contract year for many of our NRL players and so if things don't improve to the level Griffin wants, the coach at least has the ability to clear them from his roster.

I have faith in the new young backs coming through and already see them as an improvement on the likes of Aitken and Lafai. I am very much looking forward to see how Dufty has improved his defence and confidence in taking the high ball mainly because we have a much better bakline with Lomax and Bird feeding our wingers and hopefully Hunt and Norman returning to their best form.

Of late our forwards are the main problem and so if we can't recruit a big fast right edge forward to replace Frizell, we will need to find one from within. Unfortunately I don't see Ford or Fuimaono as the right edge forward we are looking for.

From my point of view, we need four first grade props who are able to run hard and tackle hard. To be frank our props need to be much tougher then what we had in the past two seasons. And unless De Belin becomes available we also have to settle for second best in the lock position. In short, our middle forwards need to step up big time in order to give our halves half a chance of weaving their magic. So I propose a prop rotation of Vaughan, Faamausili, Alvaro and Hunt. I believe our best bet for lock right now is Lawrie, with Ford on the bench.

I know this forum is split on the idea of selecting Kerr at 12 however, I consider he is our best option if we need to fill this position from within. Kerr seems to have more speed, more go forward and a good off-load. He might just prove to be a good edge forward.

If the coaching staff can get this pack cracking, I'd say we can match it with any pack in the competition. All we will need to do is rest those props that become injured and replace them with the likes of Ellis or Blacker.
