I hope the organisers don't have England playing all over the country as this will reduce the support at places like Perth. Most fans will give it a miss and stay in the east.

I would open England and France's World Cup campaign in Perth.8pm WA time is midday in England which is an attractive time slot for a European broadcaster.

In 2013 Australia played in Wales, England and Ireland in the group stages. New Zealand played in France and England......if you're not the "home" team then you'll not get to pick your venues.

I'd be surprised in Australia will play outside of NSW/Queensland in the groups, NZ will be at home so the next big draw will be England and Perth wouldn't be a bad place to be based for the group stages and apparently Perth is the #1 destination for immigrant POME's

Travel in the UK involves relatively shorter distances than covering the whole width of Australia. All I'm saying is we usually get dragged all over the place and if it happens again the majority of England supporters will give the outpost games a miss and concentrate on matches played in the east. A few days in Sydney/Brisbane? A few extra grand chasing all over the country and possibly beyond will damage England support and tournament profits.

If it was to happen, it has to be the first game rather than playing east Coast or BZ then Perth then back.

They'll probably start Eng with PNG (in PNG?). Seems to be a traditional matchup now.

Will PNG be in the big group considering their woeful performances in 2013?

I've heard that PNG will host a group.Given that the RLWC will have the same structure as the last one in 2013 it means PNG will be in one of the 2 second tier groups.

12% of Perths population is English. No problem filling nib stadium for a RLWC match featuring england here.

I'd base the England team in Perth.

Also when is the new stadium opening? If it is around that time perhaps they could open the comp there. With the new stadium factor it could draw a capacity crowd esp if Eng v NZ or Aust

New Perth Stadium opens in 2018.

And no, even for an Eng vs NZ or Eng vs Aus clash, it won't get a capacity crowd of 60k. If it can't get that in NRL heartlands, what makes you think that all the Poms in Perth will suddenly just flock to the match?

Because we're pretty League-starved here in Perth! One or occasionally two NRL games a year in recent years is all we get apart from the local comp. We've sold out NIB Stadium several times in recent years (including having the record attendance figure for all sports), and that's just been Souths against Warriors games. With an international game, with the right amount of promotion in the lead-up, I'm confident a 60,000 seat venue here will be filled. Especially if it has nations that have a lot of support here (Australia, NZ, England, South Africa possibly too). Even Samoa / Tonga have seemingly a quite a bit of support here too.
