PNG born west tigers fullback Jahream Bula will make his NRL debut this weekend having been named in the tigers starting 13 for the round 8 clash against the manly sea eagles.

Would be pretty interesting if other people could post similar news stories of other kumuls making their way through the NRL ranks or other competitions for that matter like the NSW cup, Queensland cup, jersey flegg etc.

Also super league and the championship in the UK.

Dan Russell is with the Dragons this year and playing in NSW cup at the moment.
Kitron Laka is with Wynnum Manly Seagulls.
Also pretty sure that Jeremiah Simbiken at the Dolphins is in the NRL Squad.

didnt jack de Belin rule himself out of selection stating that he doesn’t view himself as a kumul?

That was for the World Cup I thought but maybe altogether, not sure. Still eligible so I’ll leave him there for now.

Emmanuel Waine - London Broncos
Kevin Appo - Bradford Bulls

And no, Gela-Mosby couldn't find any documents on his grand parents having PNG connections.

Thanks. Updated plus a few more from hecanplayfor instagram.

I’m also led to believe that former Melbourne storm legend Marcus bai has 2 of his kids making their way through the Gold Coast titans youth teams.

Also David westley’s son?

Kokomo is the PNG Pidgin name for Hornbill birds.
We have lots of them up here. Just as many as the Birds of Paradise or the Kumul as called in PNG Pidgin.
Cheers mate.

after last night’s game I hope that Ezra mam puts his hand up for the kumuls.

Where did you see he was PNG born?

Article I just read says NZ born, and NRL.com profile says the same. Only other thing I can find says he is of Fijian descent.
