Today one of the 2nd tier Competitions below the Digicel Cup had its Grand Final in Port Moresby.

The KCK Rigo Rice Competition is like an off-season Competition that runs from November to May or June of the following year. And just this afternoon the Grand Final was held at the Sir Hubert Murry Stadium.

The Grand Final was between Morobe Pride from Lae City and South Side Dolphins from Port Moresby.
The Dolphins won the match 12-10
As Rigo Rice Cup winners the Dolphins were presented with the Rigo Rice Cup and K200,000 in hard cash was given to the Team during the presentation ceremony.
Runners up Morobe Pride were given K60,000 cash and 3rd place Mono Mutrus were given K30,000 cash.

It's great to see that the Rugby League Pathways programs in PNG have now gone down as low as U10s, U12s and U14s. The 6 regional academes only start at U15s but now starting with Port Moresby U10's to U14's have their own schools' competition.

Last weekend they even played their matches at the Santos National Football Stadium before the Hunters Match.
