Warne has to be a no-brainer for the test player.
I'd think Lee or Hussey for ODI.

Warne should win the AB medal too, IMO. But, if golden boy Clark won that last year, then surely Hussey has to be a big chance?

Warne has basically no chance for AB because, and I've no doubt it's been mentioned, he doesn't play one-dayers - and that's where a lot of the points come from.

Actually from what I know points are proportionated, meaning since there were 15 tests last year Warne has a fair shot. Usually test points carry more weight becuase there are more ODI'S than tests.

My picks will be AB- Shane Warne should get it but Ponting probally will

ODI- Michael Hussey
Test- Shane Warne obviously
State- Lehmann/Jaques take your pick. I'd go Lehmann.
Young- Cullen, a roughie could be Callum Ferguson.

The Tests ones are weighted? I was sure they weren't, that was one of the main issues I had with the whole AB medal to be honest, because I thought that the one day specialists who performed adequately in the Tests would always do really well in it.

But if the Tests are weighted then that makes it a much fairer contest in my eyes.

Still, it makes for good viewing seeing some highlights from the year!

cause he gets tailenders out and grab's 3-4 wickets an innings because of it..

Ponting was the leading runscorer in the world, had a great summer and saved Australia countless times.

Warne had a sh*t summer and was only brilliant in the Ashes because everyone else was so sh*t.

IMO Ponting is a shoe-in and rightly so

yep - that should wrap it up! and IMO (only) ODIs are pretty much meaningless so he should win the lot! Ponting hasn;t been particularly spectacular in ODIs has he???

I say agian though, the joke winner last year means that Hussey must be a strong dark horse

By the way I think Cullen is ineligible for the Young Player, he has probally played more than 10 FC games prior to this season. That rules him out. Bailey or Hartley would be the favourites.

No they don't. Quite a few of them are still alive.

Usually it's one who has since shuffled off this mortal coil and the otehr being a more recent one.

Last year I think it was Hugh Temble and Alan Davidson

I dont think he will win but to throw in a wildcard what about Matt Hayden? 3 hundreds 4 Hundreds in 4 tests in a row, then got 87 not out in the next test and backed it up with a few runs against south africa. thats an absolute wild card.....as he didnt do anything before that.
