I thought players had to be registered before June 30..... ala Ben Kennedy and the $3 contract.

According to today's papers, the Broncos only signed Alwyn Simpson last week and yet he is playing in a semi final ?

Did I miss something ?

PS What was Bennett thinking ?

Who else is there to choose?
Willie Carne, Michael Hancock? Joe Kilroy?

that's not the point, the point is how was he registered if he was signed last week.

He's played PL all season, does he need to be registered with the club he is playing with in FG (in this case, the broncos) or is just being a PL player enought?

I'm only going by the reports in today's Sunday Tele that said he has been called up from the Redcliffe Dolphins....... not the Aspley Broncos ??

Have the Broncos registered every player in the Queensland Cup as one of theirs ?

The point is, if he wasn't registered by June 30, why was this allowed ? Easy to say it was ok because he was a nuffie, but what if Bennett was able to get a decent winger from English Super League, or Trent Barrett to play 5/8 - would that be ok?

If you say so, but I though his reads in defence were pretty terrible. Couple of dropped/missed balls that lead to trys etc...

I feel for the young guy to have a match like that for his debut.

Yeah considering the changes we had we should've just put Lacey out there.

LOL

Lacey to the wing, Thaiday to 5/8. May aswell have put Hannant in at hooker and Petero to fullback.

For sure.

If he keeps plugging away and has teh right attitude Bennett will give him another shot. That's the sort of coach he is.

Woeful performance. What was Bennett thinking bringing in a kid to debut in such a crunch game?

Like the Broncos really had a chance to win that game. Seriously

True. They should have forfeited after that abysmal display at the hands of the Eels.

Well the knights would be one of the best judges to decide on what is abysmal for 2007.
