AMNRL into American Somoa

Firstly, having solid teams in their flagship competition. Not teams that literally 'make up the numbers' that lack proper personnel and struggle to field a team week-on-week (we've all seen that David Niu leaked email).

Junior / Youth foundations. You cannot continue year on year to rely on a player turnover that has no junior set up below it. The quality of player (barring imports) will stagnate due to players being constantly new to the game or not being trained with it since a young age (junior development).

It's fair enough if the AMNRL want to get things going in the west and in American Samoa, but they essentially need to get there house in full order first i.e the Atlantic Conference and build these teams and that competition until it really is the pinnacle level that these expansion competitions can aspire to be and learn from.

SMOKE AND MIRRORS... Some of these "TEAMS" don't have players, home facilities or websites. Just a guy with a logo. In that case I'll have a team by 2012 The AMNRL central expansion St. Louise Archers.

If the RLIF and AMNRL had as much $$ as union, I'm sure American Samoa, Hawaii, and the rest of the expansion areas would pop up over night.
However, they don't, and so the AMNRL needs to either let the USARL comp be number one with the AMNRL as development/reserve grade comps; or for the AMNRL to have the top comp as professional as the USARL so teams have something to work towards. The rest of the expansion areas can than develop organically, and one day, possibly feature in the top comp, or a top comp will be established on the west coast.
I just feel that the AMNRL needs to make their minds up, so some clear vision can be seen by fans, sponsors, players, teams and other stakeholders.
You only have to look at the Asian 5 nations in union, and see the clear vision, promotion and relegation etc, of that comp and the divisions below it. I mean, the level of play aint great, but at least if you go on the website you know exactly how the comp is working, and you know exactly how to progress.
Summing up, a decision has to be made, and it must be released before this coming season starts.
Something on the AMNRL website stating the AMNRL divisions:
AMNRL Elite Comp (i.e. "atlantic" comp)
AMNRL division 1 (Mid west, hawaii comp)
AMNRL division 2/expansion (american samoa, west etc)

Clearly the above is not perfect nor correct, but thats something along the lines of what needs to be promoted. And then on the AMNRL website, you can click on whichever comp/division you wish to, and news directly related to that comp will be featured, plus player bios, Q & A's, sponsors of teams etc...

It's really not that hard, you just make use with what you've got!

Seems a sensible basic idea.

It is hard to compare league and union as the IRB and RLIF clearly are very different bodies , one is well funded and committed to a world game and the other has no funding and it seems is only there so Australia UK and NZ can win a world cup.

The world game is given lip service. With a market like the USA the only reason the major nations haven't committed the funding to build the game can only be a fear of the USA succeeding and becoming the centre of the game. The usual self interest drama.

There's no point bagging blokes on line who , whether you agree or disgree or think you could have done better, have put their own coin and sweat into the game as isnt the real concern why hasnt the RLIF funded the game in the USA?
