Sport in the US definitely has a history of splits/rivals popping up, the NFL have had the AAFC and XFL, MLB had the AL & NL at one stage, NBA had the ABA as a rival, NHL had the WHA pop up and I'm sure there are plenty of others that have occurred as well.

Unlike these other sports, RL in the US doesn't have the money, players or reach worthy of the level of infighting that occurs.

Since the 2000s we've had the USRL v AMNRL split, then the AMNRL v USARL split, then the NARL v USARL split and now its CRL v USARL v Unaffiliated clubs.

Honestly, I wish the IRL would fo something similar to Tonga and install an independent committee for the national team and then from a domestic perspective, divide up the country and let each of these independent leagues just run themselves.

The NERL can have the North-East, the USARL in the South East, PCRL can have Southern California as they are based between LA and San Diego and give the CRL the rest of California + Nervada and then Utah can be a game of roshambo.

It's a big country and the reality is the officials in one corner of the country barely have the resources to look after their little patch, let alone be trying to do anything anywhere else effectively.

League as well is unlikely to ever establish a decent presence in the US until it has more regional based competitions anyway.

I have it on good authority, the USARL and the PCRL are actively and aggressively getting new teams setup. You could say the renegades of the Championship folks shook up the status and is now making the governing body work. PCRL usarl are looking into what needs to be done to restart Texas RL and Oregon RL .

Cleveland for the most part is all talk. Just a week ago Monte G. Denounced rugby league and claimed he was taking his ball and organization to rugby union, but yet keeps going on. His group has blocked many folks on social media's for barely questioning anything. Say 1 bad thing , Blocked. Yet questions why he's getting pushed back and of course California RL comes to his defense. California and the Championship are one in the same, funny that the folks who run both use California accounts much more then the Championship accounts.

Have to admit I haven't seen that with the channels I follow Cleveland RL & Monte on, all the posts I've seen have been on the Little League program they are looking to roll out, which is extremely ambitious, but hopefully something that can get started.

I will admit I'm a little confused by the Championship Rugby League structure. The current competition taking place has North Bay Warriors, San Francisco Savage, Salt Lake Spartans & Provo Steelers, but then half these teams will make up the North-West Conference & half the Utah Conference. I'm not sure if these games feed into that, or if when the split occurs it will be an entirely new competition.

Utah Conference will be Spartans, Steelers, Utah Saints and Laie Rhinos (Hawaii). North-West Conference will see the Palo Alto Razorbacks & Sacramento Immortals join the Warriors & Savage.

Sin City (Vegas) Islanders will head up the third Conference, with three additional teams still to be named.

Zions Bank Stadium, a 5K stadium in Herriman, Utah is set to host 7 matches in 2023, whilst the 11K Heart Health Park in Sacramento will also host another 7 games.

I haven't seen the Pacific Coast / USARL plans for 2023. San Diego & LA played a trial in December and they've announced 4 committed teams.

So long as they are actually putting their energies into running competitions & playing and not undermining each other.

I'll give it to Championship RL that despite them being quick to attack other bodies through their channels, at least are getting the game played on the field and growing the reach of the code.

In the US that's not the case. Causing more infighting and causing less appeal for players wanting to play, forking out money. As is if you do not play for the USARL you will not be chosen for the NTs. So the independent teams out there and the ones in the Championship league, their players won't get looked at.

I think all the different US Rugby League administrations should come together and agree to split the country down the middle and have a Western Conference named “USARL Pacific” and the Eastern Conference named “USARL Atlantic”. Let these organisations run their respective Conference the way they see fit, then have a Super Bowl typed Final (Pacific vs Atlantic USARL SuperFinal) to finish the season.

Representation of maybe two delegates from each Conference could sit on the USARL Board, to ensure no dodgy doings is going on.

Doing it this way, everyone wins, all top players get selected for the Hawks, money doesn’t get wasted and the future of USARL will flourish.

I think the NRL and SuperLeague should also invest in the Game in the US, where the NRL could help build the USARL Pacific brand and SuperLeague could do the same for USARL Atlantic Brand. Maybe ESPN or FOX Sports or both could maybe become broadcasting partners.

Nice to see some life again with Oregon RL. They were looking promising, especially when they started forming a side in Salem, before the combo of COVID & NARL (Portland Loggers) resulted in a few people getting disillusioned.

Would be great if they could establish a League.

No wonder international bodies don't take RL seriously and leave the door open for Union and others to challenge its legitimacy! Seriously America the game isnt that big that its worth all this infighting over!

IRL needs to be supported to step in and sort out a national geographical conference based structure with an overarching governing body made up of conference lead organisations. Carrot and stick time!

It would be nice for the IRL to do something other than back the incumbent.

They made the same mistake during the whole AMNRL v USARL war and appear to be just repeating it again telling everyone to affiliate with the USARL, whilst ignoring why the Championship & United clubs left and even why some clubs have just decided to fold all together.
