He is still doing time but in the community. Thinking that it being a first offense and that he was clearly under the influence of the family patriarch, may just have swayed the judge to keep him out of prison. Plus he is a young man with a possible successful pro footy career ahead of him. Yes JD everyone deserves a second chance and Junior Amone has had his.
I totally agree on the Patriarch, does anyone remember the Hoppa incident with one of his sons??? dare them not to go to war with Dad !!!!!!

It was coming wasn’t it?

He will probably be invited to reapply at some point.

I would have done him the courtesy of waiting until the appeal period had expired. They let him play for ages after all.

Firmer footing as to consequences.

Interesting to me in so far I thought a big reason for the decision to keep Amone out of gaol, from the magistrate (?), was because he was the family breadwinner - both local and overseas family.
That has gone.

Mind you, I’m not at all surprised that the NRL have deregistered him. Strike that, I am a bit - I thought they may push the decision onto the Dragons shoulders.

By the time the club, the nrl and the victim are through with him, Junior will probably be financial cactus.

After his ICO expires, he can probably try to re-register as a player.

Time seems to heal many things.

When you think about it, after he has done his time, if you are the victim and you’ve won a big claim against him, you want him to be able to work so you can access some of his earnings.

The idiot is on an ICO for 2 years, he is not a fit character to be registered whilst he serves his time. Quite simple really. Can’t see how he isn’t sacked and deregistered. Still amazed he didn’t end up in the slammer to be honest. Can’t honestly expect the NRL to allow this muppet to keep his contract. Good bye to this imbecile and whoever wants to entertain the idea of signing him in 2 years time I say good luck and hope to god it isn’t Saints

I don’t want him at the Tigers either.

His head just isn’t right.

He should try esl holiday I guess, he will earn a lot more anyway.

So Amone has officially been deregistered by the NRL and will not appeal the decision.
Frees up a roster spot, so pending the announcement of Volkman on a 1 year deal, we have 29 spots taken.
Hoping the Ramsey issue is also sorted soon to give us 2 roster spots to fill.
