Junior Amone found guilty of assault.
Not good.
Interesting to see what sentence he gets.
And what the club does.

Well I feel sorry for him and hopefully he can try and show remorse so the judge can go lightly on him
In the meantime though we should go all out for Luia

You feel sorry for someone who tried to kill someone with a hammer for doing his job, and hope the judge goes lightly on him? What the f**k is wrong with you?

Oh and he and his family tried to claim he wasn't there and it was a case of mistaken identity.

Considering he's been actually found guilty of the offence, surely the club's hand is forced. We have to sack him don't we?
I think he has to go.
The club needs to send a message to everyone at the club that this sort of off field behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Surely Flanagan would have factored in this was a possible outcome from the court case??

I don’t condone his actions he is young and a boofhead rugby league player with too much time on his hands.
They all do regrettable things and always will. Do I have to quote examples?

We have no Choice but to release B Hunt, Go all out for Luia. As I stated before K Flanagan and Luia, should be halves for 2024.
Why in the world would the Panthers release Luai a year early? If he signs elsewhere, he'll see out 2024 at the Panthers. Ivan Cleary has shown that is his policy with players who have signed for the next season elsewhere. Burton stayed, Kikau stayed, Api stayed. Why when the Panthers are going for 4 straight prems would they get rid of Luai early? Especially when they have no suitable 5/8 replacement currently ready to take the reigns. Won't happen, we're stuck with Hunt and Flanagan for next year at the very least.

Luai will also probably go to the Tigers or Dogs, Mam has stated he'll be staying at the Broncos. We need to go for Dearden, he's the best and only realistic chance, albeit a small chance

The trouble is he had the opportunity to show remorse and own up for it by pleading guilty and he failed to do that and then compounded it by lying.

Judges take a very dim view of that behaviour.

Attacking someone with a hammer is not a "boofhead rugby league player" action, or merely "regrettable".
I’m sure you’ve had instances in your life where you’ve wanted to harm someone when in a rage but restrained yourself
I know I have
He is a dumb wit rugby league who couldn’t help himself just like the rapist we have and the headstomper we had

The evidence and details surrounding this incident made it obvious that the Amones' were guilty. Piss poor defence when it constituted lying and saying they were not guilty as they were mistakenly identified as the perpetrators.

You just cannot feel sorry for these guys. They should not have attacked the tradies to cause damages and injuries.

I say that the club should wield the axe and sack Junior immediately now that he has been found guilty.

Yes I agree but it’s never to late to show deep remorse for his actions it can only help him

The Dragons have confirmed that playmaker Talatau Amone has been stood down from all club activities until further notice.

Amone, who has played 54 games since making his first-grade debut for St George Illawarra in 2021, was found guilty in Wollongong Court on Wednesday, October 18 in relation to an assault last November

The club will make no further comment at this time as court proceedings continue.

Dragons statement. Piss poor from the club. Sack him you weak pricks. What are they waiting for? To see if he avoids jail time and then they'll play him despite the guilty verdict? Ridiculous if that happens. He simply can never play for us again, get rid of him now.
