All part of the process. The continued cleansing of the deads**ts and deadwood out of this club.

Let's trust in Flanno to back his coaching and any decisions made here with regards to recruitment and filling the gap.

I would back a K Flanno & Hunt halves combination. Perhaps this gives us an opportunity to target a Connor Tracey who can hold down any position in the backline & cover anywhere else in the event of injuries ? You'd have to think that we would be a solid chance of getting him if he comes onto the market (given his connections to Flanno through the Sharks junior system).

I'm wondering what the protocols are in a case like this and who has the authority to sack him. At my old workplace, it was pretty easy to retrench someone if there was a downturn in business. But sacking someone for disciplinary reasons was a whole different matter. You had to go through a long winded process involving Human Resources staff and ultimately being signed off by someone near the top. I assume something similar is in play here, and it may take at least few days of paperwork and meetings to get rid of him.

Surely the club would have seen this coming and must surely have been looking at measures to cover the losses of Sullivan and Amone (in Amone's case the worst being sent to jail or a lesser penalty in a lengthy suspension by the NRL and the club and in the case of Sullivan - just not wanted for some reason).

So there is the mention of some other players in the foxsports article and I am hoping we go hard for Dearden. At this stage, I think Flanno would be happy to play his boy and Hunt in the halves and concentrate on getting better front and second row forwards which I see as being essential.

The article mentions Kurt Mann and Drew Hutchison which I thought signed for the Dogs?
Very slim pickings available for 2024 so not sure why you would let Sullivan go as he is probably the best of what is available. Hopefully someone comes out of the blue from the juniors and surprises us all. Herring has a huge chance now to get a crack.

All this because a tradie parked his car on a nature strip in front of Amone's house? How bizarre. Would anyone really get that pi$$ed if someone parked a car on a nature strip in front of their house?

There may be a concern of a wrongful dismissal claim if we jump before sentencing shows we will not be able to fulfil his contract.
I don’t believe that would get up, I expect they are in a position to sack him now. But maybe they are waiting through “an excess of caution”.
You’re right. Of course he will be terminated but it’s a contract situation, not as ‘statutory’ and simple as summarily terminating an employee.
