Wests Tigers play Welcome to The Jungle when the away team runs on, i think thats pretty cool. Though at Leichhardt the speakers still cut out every 5 secs. heh

I agree the Saints should play that U2 song.. Im pretty sure the New Orleans Saints do, they also use it for promos.

On saturday night at the charity shield, both the dragons and souths came out to jazzed up (but very cool sounding) versions of their club songs. The crowd got into it and it sounded really good. So will the NRL have the intellect to carry this through the whole year? Lets hope so, it was awesome
But was it an NRL initiative or pushed by the clubs? If it was the NRL then it could be part of the wider push to encourage club membership and fan involvement AFL style. If that's the case then chances are it wouldn't be a one off. But it it's coming out of Souths new marketing department (more likely IMHO) then don't expect to see it anywhere other than Souths home games.

Mate, ive been campaigning for MANY years over at the Roosters Wall for us to use the Alice in Chains - Rooster song as the teams walk out onto the ground. What a shame Richard Fisk is such a pansy  We'd scare the living daylights out of most teams if we used this song

Seeing as only 45 Roosters fans are younger than 50, you'd scare the sh*t out the the "Roosters Wall" too.

The Charity Shield takes on more of an event feel rather than just a stock standard game. Game day entertainment is entirely up to the clubs. If you liked what they did the other night tell them, if you think that other clubs should adopt the same tell that club too. The NRL's role in club's gameday music, events etc is quite limited so you can hardly blame them.

point taken but surely the NRL (being the governing body and all) could influence them on this point
