An idea for SOO, that will change the game!!!

An Invitational player system should be proposed for SOO. NSW and Queensland should be allowed to draft one marquee player into their squad for each SOO series. The winner of the previous series will have first pick.

Each Invitational player will be picked after both sides have announced their squads. The only stipulations will be that the player cannot be from either SOO catchment area (So NSW could not pick a Queensland-eligible player & vice versa) and selection will not affect International eligibilty.

I think this proposal will add a lot of extra excitement to Origin. Imagine SBW lining up for NSW and Benji Marshall lining up for Queensland. Every player dreams of playing Origin football, this proposal will make dreams come true.

The Key is to make international football the pinnacle and not Origin.

What a pathetic suggestion. SoO already has too many import/traitors playing already with the disgraceful likes of Thorn, Carroll, cutie just to name a few.

Forgot Inglis Crouching. He's more of a Vic than he is a Queenslander...

Errr he was born and raised in NSW, played in both NSW(school) and QLD(Melbournes feeder) at age 16.

Then moved on to the storm.

I would hardly class him as a victorian.

He's been living in Melbourne longer than he ever lived in Queensland...

I think this idea would be sensational. Imagine the buzz created by the announcement of each squad's Invitational Player. This idea totally owns what Gould came up with.

There aren't enough spots for quality players as it stands right now - just look at the excellent players that were left out of the 34 in Game 1.

And you want to reduce that by another two, for a guest appearance? Let them go on Dancing With the Stars, or It Takes Two, & leave SOO alone...

Why don't you suggest a North Is Vs South Is, & see if the likes of Marshall & SBW volunteer...

It'll never happen. The NZRL are a bunch of geniuss. And all eligible players will come out with mysterious injuries before these proposed North vs South games. It'll never get the same respect as Origin.
