i wonder if fox sports will move rugby league to fox sports 1 this year now that their pet sport (and number 2 rating sport) has its own channel, the very broadly named fox footy?

I think the NRL coverage could be improved by taking a leaf out of SkySports in the UK and have an NRL version of Fanzone

I think it would be good to have this in Fox Sports coverage

Here is what Im talking about

I read somewhere that when there's 2 AFL games on at the same time, the second game will be shown on Fox Sports 1, with NRL matches to be on Fox Sports 3. I know they're just arbitrary numbers, and that it really doesn't matter, but I find it a bit of a slap in the face.

We'll surely get our own channel if Fox gets to broadcast all 8 games as part of the next broadcast deal.

they already tried a version of this years ago, around 2005. It was on Saturday night games, some were good, but most struggled after the first 15-20 minutes

That's disgraceful if true!

What's the difference between being on Fox1 or Fox3?

FoxSports 3 is very rarely shown at pubs and clubs, but that could just be because there is very rarely anything worth watching on FoxSports 3

Good grief some people are worried about the smallest things!

Like arguing getting handed the same sized chop after someone else for crying outloud.

I expected to see several posts detailing ways of permanently silencing Daley. Imagine my surprise.

That's 3 minutes of my life I'll never get back. If I wanted to watch a fat guy jumping around with his shirt off I'd watch the Biggest Loser. Obviously, I don't though.

Surely you mean foxsports 2? Why would it not be on 2, its were NRL airs already. It will stay on 2 with more content on 1 i would imagine.

Watched a few fanzone games in the past, some of them where absolute crackers.

And some people seem happy to be bent over and punished!

We are the biggest rating sport on tv, and pay tv make millions of dollars off rugby league. Why should we accept second best? Why should we be "fed second"? Fox sports 1 is the standard channel in pubs, gyms, clubs and the perception is that the biggest sport is shown on it! While not the biggest issue in the game, we should be getting little things like this right as well, especially as fumbleball has its own channel now!

Here's a link for the AFL clash games appearing on Fox Sports 1

foxsports.com.au/afl/hour-fox-footy-channel-to-provide-live-and-uninterrupted-coverage-of-all-regular-season-afl-games/story-e6frf33l-1226187759123

Where there are two games at any one time (for example on a Saturday afternoon), one LIVE game will be on Fox Footy, the other LIVE game will be on Fox Sports 1. Fox Footy will be the channel of destination – Fox Sports 1 will be the channel dealing with LIVE game clashes
I can't for the life of me find the article regarding NRL games on Fox Sports 3 though, so hopefully I was mistaken.

Huh ? I've never noticed this "ranking" - they're all just treated as channels with no priority. If they have Fox Sports, pubs or clubs will just put the league ( or whatever sport you ask for ) on Fox Sports 1,2, 3 ( or free to air ) if it's not already on. This isn't just in one pub or club, it's the way things operate in any of them I've been to all over the country. ( some places do take a bit of effort, as some bar staff can't or aren't allowed to change channels if necessary and have to ask a supervisor to do it )

The majority of them have different tv's in sports bars / bigger bars to cover all 3 ( plus free-to-air channels ) or have different tv's in different parts of the pub/club to allow them to do this. To avoid problems, quite a few places will allocate certain sports to certain tv's and stick a sign under it listing what that tv is or will be showing, e.g. - this tv will be showing NRL or this tv will be showing Super Rugby etc ). A lot of the time people just find out which tv ( or tv's ) are showing what they want to see and stand or sit near there.

There are certain pubs/clubs that will give priority to "other sports" when people in that area are fans of them, e.g. - union, AFL or soccer in certain suburbs or specific pubs / clubs. A good example of this is Cheers bar in Sydney that is known for giving priority to soccer ( especially Premier League ). If there was a game on Saturday night with an early kickoff ( say 10pm ), it would receive priority over the 3rd NRL game of Super Saturday. ( i.e. - the NRL would not be shown on the biggest screens or most screens, but still be available )

Another example of this was when the RWC was on, quite a few places gave priority to it, especially when the Wallabies or certain teams were on. Some places even had a dedicated tv or tv's that stayed on the Fox Sports channel ( can't remember which one ) that was all rugby union 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the RWC.

When the Olympics are on this year, similar things will occur.

The best way to improve Fox Sports coverage is to immediately fire Brandy Alexander and Laurie Daley.

Out of cannons.
