Andrew Voss met with Gary Burns at Fox Sports today. Take what you will from that.

9 are going to let Eddie call AFL and host shows on Fox despite paying him millions

can't see why they'd have a prob with Voss working for both

The best way to improvre coverage would be to sign a 3year FTA only TV deal next time around and let Fox spend 3 years without NRL subscribers. They would come back on hands and knees and give us whatever we wanted.

Happens regularly with the NFL. The networks almost share analysts...well it appears that way. The networks actually work quite well with each other, does make you wonder why Nine and Fox haven't established something similiar.

sign a 5 year deal and give FTA more games for bugger all but with a clause allowing Fox to take them if they pay up decent $$$$$$$

only prob is can it be done with Fox having first and last rights option?

i presume this is for 5 games

careful what you wish for. If you're based in Perth or WA, you won't get much live rugby league if FTA have the rights...

ABC & ESPN do because they're part of the same "family" of networks ( Disney )

As for others, the only examples I can think of are when you see analysts / commentators appearing on shows like PTI as guests. There are commentators who float around around and appear on what's called a world feed for playoffs or Superbowl. Also, some of them call 1 or more sports for 1 network & call a different sport on another network. Eg - Dick Stockton who calls NFL and MLB for FOX, but calls NBA for TNT. I don't know of any who call the same sport for different networks that aren't part of the same "family" company. i.e. - call NFL for FOX and also for ESPN or CBS.

If that helps secure our long term future then so be it.

That's my understanding of the proposed Foxtel/10 arrangement.

Split broadcast and talent costs.

That's been mentioned in a few media outlets ( such as Financial Review )

Interesting - would Ray Warren retire, join ch10 or Fox Sports ? Then there are others from Ch9 to consider like Sterlo, Gus etc.

I suppose it's like other times when networks have lost the rights & they jump ship or just bide their time if the "new" network doesn't rate them or want them for other reasons. ( clash of personalities or baggage )

Don't know about Warren. Given his recent health troubles it could go either way. He's the kind of guy who's all about leaving a legacy so I think he'd want to leave rugby league on a bit of a high so he might jump ship.

There would be a scramble for positions because 10 already has rugby league presenters/personalities now and are in talks with more.

I'm confused. You suggest he'll leave league & jump ship, but using that term suggests he'll go ( "jump ship" ) to another tv station / network. Do you mean abandon ship ? ( and retire )

I don't know about the quality of Ch10's current league presenters / personalities.
Who are Ch10 in talks with ? hopefully some fresh talent, because guys like Blocker aren't suited to tv these days.
