Barrett is a 5/8 not a halfback, and to pick him out of possition in such a big game is crazzy. These's guys are both very good players but i really cant see them forming good combinations together.

Kimmorley should feel very unlucky to be dropped, he has not had the forwards up front domminating in club or Origin footy and no half back can do his job if his team is behind the 8 ball.

Craig Gower should have gone in if anyone!

I'd like to see Barrett and Anasta do any better behind a forward pack that was dominated like they were in Game 1.

Gower busted his nose open on the weekend & would have opened it up again & again if in the origin. He would be in the blood bin all game & his form doesn't warrant selection anyway. I like him better than Kimmorley but not the best alternate at the moment.

Barrett can't play half.....He got the Dragons to their last GF as a 1/2 & is a better player in that position than the game 1 option by a long way. They got the 1/2's spot on this time & the game will show that.

Anasta's long kicking game is what they might be looking for to tire out the QLD forwards. They dominated the first game. If Anasta can keep turning them around with a good kicking game, they might tire.

You read too many papers.....The forwards were as good as the poor last play options allowed. Kimmorley was too flat......Not the forwards fault!

His sh*t kicking game had them with their a***holes hanging out defending. Doesn't leave you with much in the tank to go forward. When was the last time Hindmarsh knocked up in a game. I'll give you the tip........ never.

The blame was put to the NSW forwards as a smokscreen to shelter Kimmorley just in case he went around in again game 2. Anyone with a clue about the game could tell the forwards had a dig. All of them!

I don't really rate Anasta, but he would have to play the worst game of his career to play as bad as kimmorley did!

well looks like qld is going with a more mobile pack this time, with carlaw, flannery and mcguire.

The forwards were cowardly and soft. Unless they show some aggression and courage it will be 2-0 without a doubt.

NSW have a history of bizarre selections but this year is something else....

that maybe the case, but how can you explain the 3 straight games that noddy has played poorly in? Noddy is a club player, nothing more.

barrett has had blinders everytime he's played halfback unlike th minger he's replaced.
farewell noddy - never to wear the sky blue again (it took 6 times for the selectors to wake up). in future if every other half back & 5/8 is injured & only noddy remains, the selectors will opt for chris leikvoll.

Barrett was awarded MoM in SoO Game 2 2001 playing Halfback Role, alongside the all time great Brad Fittler.

Barrett was also the key reason the blues ran riot on the Maroons in the 3rd game last year. He also played Halfback then too.

In my mind it was the only logical selection, putting Barrett to Halfback ahead of Johns/Gower/Orford. However his 5/8th partner seems like a selection blunder we'll see in 9 days though won't we.

I have faith in Barrett's and Anasta's abilty to....

a) Spread the ball outwide. Give the ball to King, Rooney, Gasnier, Cooper and Minichiello and they will create things, they were absolutely starved of the ball in game 1.

b) Have a great kicking game. Anasta has a very long boot and can get us out of trouble with his clearing kicks. Barrett has a very good range of attacking kicks and is deadly close to the line.

There is no problem with the halves IMO.

Wrong, They weren't & they will, & Knocking about with Witt & Sullivan hardly give you the credibility to assess a front rowers performance
