Anasta & Barrett??? Bad halfs combo

Neither BArret or Anasta has a good low short kicking game for mine. Both can bomb a fullback out of existence, but both rely on their halves (Sherwin and Head) superior directional kicks and grubbers for repeat sets and trys

NSW needs to get repeat sets of six, Kimmorley was unable to provide them with bad short kicking, Barrett and Anasta won't help based on their abilities in this area

If I were a NSW fan I wouldn't be concerned about getting the ball out to the 3/4s, but I don't know how they'll manage in the organisation of the forwards; a very important role that Barrett or Anasta aren't accustomed to.

I think Anasta is another Shaun Timmins at 5/8th but with weaker defence and a bigger boot, Anasta doesn't provide hgih quality service for his outside backs to score tries, he's more of an extra lock forward which I think is abit strange seeing as NSW have already 6 back rowers in the squad. If NSW wins it'll be on the back of Barrett rather than Anasta.

It was a great choice to play Barrett at half and Anasta at 5/8. The both excelled in these positions in City v Country, and Kimmorley had to go. For chrissake, he was even majorly hinted at having to play well for Cronulla if he was to retain his position by Stuart. He didn't, and it just showed his lack of confidence. Could you imagine what QLD had in store for him in SOO2?

Barrett is a champion player as he plays better rep footy than he does for the Dragons, unlike Noddy who plays like a god for the Sharks but like a bunny rabbit in the spotlight for NSW. Gower is SOO material, but the way the he and the Panthers are playing, there is no way he could be picked.

I reckon they should have dropped that poser Ryles who is all reputation and no performance. Even the Dragons supporters i know don't know why he gets picked. NSW already miss Shrek, so there's no room for the likes of Ryles with NSW as hammered in the forwards as they were in SOO1.

I think Barrett and Anasta will go ok in the halves, much better option than Kimmorley. But where is the extra prop on the bench? Ryan should have been dropped for Kite or another specialist prop.

Whether Barrett and Anastia go well or not depends solely on the forwards who I believe contributed to Kimmorley having an ordinary game. If they give barrett and Anasta room and protection they will go well as would have Kimmorley. Nothing will be proven if the forwards fire. However if they again fail this selection will be proven as the bad joke it is and serious questions need to asked about the ability of the selectors and coach. It will be 2-0 after game 2.

If the forwards fire it will be proven that even good players can't dominate behind an atrocious kicking game.

What do you mean? Do you think Barrett and Anasta will have a bad kicking game?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he means the forwards performance was a direct result of the extra pressure they were put under though poor last play options by the halfback. If that is part of our game is corrected, & it is in fact the same pack for game 2, a better performance is to be expected & point proved.

If they play poorly behind an improved kicking game than it may be shown that Kimmorley was not the problem & vindicated. But......If they have a blinder in game 2, than they (the forwards) should be exonerated of all blame & the 1/2 held accountable for his own dismal contributions.

exactly right, when the other team has all the momentum, their getting their 1st tackle on their own 40m line, you're having to do a mountain of defence and you're continually carting the ball up 5m out from your own line, well as far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter if your front rowersare Paul Harragon and Glen Lazarus, simply put, your f**ked.

I can't believe Cronulla fans are still defending Noddy. Get over it! Kite was suspended so he couldn't play.

You read too many papers.....The forwards were as good as the poor last play options allowed. Kimmorley was too flat......Not the forwards fault!

His sh*t kicking game had them with their a***holes hanging out defending. Doesn't leave you with much in the tank to go forward. When was the last time Hindmarsh knocked up in a game. I'll give you the tip........ never.

The blame was put to the NSW forwards as a smokscreen to shelter Kimmorley just in case he went around in again game 2. Anyone with a clue about the game could tell the forwards had a dig. All of them!

couldn't agree more!
